Something really weird happened to last night's review. Thankfully, I typed it up somewhere else beforehand. It somehow replaced with the NXT blog. However, here it is again. Sorry for the sudden inconvenience.
Her beauty is only outmatched by her ruthlessness. Watch your back when Catrina enters the room. Better yet, seek safety for your soul
Sup, everyone and welcome to the March 18th, 2015 edition of the Lucha Underground Review! Tonight’s episode was full of revenge, blood, blood and MORE blood. There are two main topics that I’m covering for this review are: two major title matches and tonight’s main event where one of the two competitors suffered “Grave Consequences”. Without further ado, lets get down to it!
Two Major Title Matches!
It was announced during the show that Dario Cueto has signed a check, in both the AAA World Heavyweight Championship and the Lucha Underground Championship will be defended NEXT WEEK. This is a sudden, yet huge move by Lucha Underground! Just think about it, four of the company’s top stars going at it for two notable titles in Lucha Libre aspect of professional wrestling. Alberto El Patron will defend the title against his arch nemesis, El Texano, Jr.; and Prince Puma will defend his title against Cage in a Boyle Heights Street Fight. I remember mentioning a possible AAA World title match in Lucha Underground, but I did not think that it was going to happen in just a short amount of time. Also, with the Lucha Underground title on the line in the same episode, this episode should not be missed!
If you are wondering about my predictions for these two matches, well I see Alberto El Patron retaining the AAA World title… but by a straw! I’m very sure that El Texano, Jr.’s definitely going to give Alberto a huge run for his money. As for the Lucha Underground title match, I want to say Cage, but I have a feeling that Konnan’s going to return, and get his revenge on Cage for putting him on the shelf. However, Cage has been dominating every time he has had a match in Lucha Underground… and he’s just an overall badass, so I’ll go with Cage.
Who suffered “Grave Consequences”?
I am sure that both of these men – Fenix and Mil Muertes, that is – were not anticipating what they were going to do to each other in this match. To be honest, I feel that Catrina was the fueled that ignited what would be a classic match between these two. Mil Muertes made Fenix bleed to a bloody pulp – and even almost ripping his entire mask off. The coffin was used as more than a burial box, it was used as a weapon, as it was tossed in and out of the ring the entire match. The two brutalized each other throughout the temple, with both equally taking each other to the absolute limit. Catrina was (shockingly) a non-factor throughout the whole match… until the end until she distracted Mil Muertes enough for Fenix to bury him along with the stone of power, sentencing Mil Muertes to his death… or is he done for?
Tonight’s main event was incredible and as I said, it was a classic without a doubt. I also enjoyed seeing the blood. Not meaning to sound sadistic or anything, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen blood in this type of match, which suits me better than this PG crap that’s seen on the TV. Yeah, I said it, and I’m not taking it back.
The Authority (Kane, Big Show, Seth Rollins, Joey Mercury, Jamie Noble) start the show. Rollins feels betrayed after Orton's actions last week. He goes on to say his betrayal of The Shield (Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns) was a sound business decision while Orton's betrayal of him was nothing more than disgusting and psychopathic. Big Show apologizes to Seth Rollins, saying he feels personally responsible. Kane says that Orton will betraying them, and Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury are distraught, and Mercury can't even speak. Rollins then accepts Orton's challenge to a match at WrestleMania 31, on the condition that Orton face him tonight on Raw. As Rollins badmouths Orton again, Orton shows up and accepts his part of the bargain, saying he doesn't mind a 5-on-1 match as it will still be worth it to strike Rollins down. He tells Rollins to finish the job, because if he doesn't, he'll finish him at WrestleMania.
Nikki Bella beats AJ Lee, much thanks to a distraction by a melee between Brie Bella and Paige at ringside.
Renee Young interviews Kane and Big Show. Kane states that Big Show will be in Seth Rollins' corner tonight, but Show tells him that this is the first they've heard of him and yells at him to at least give him the option of making that decision himself. As Kane and Show bicker, Seth Rollins shows up and yells at them, telling them that this is what got them sent home and that they need to see the big picture. Kane tells Rollins to watch his tongue and tells him that he and Show enjoyed Orton humbling him like he did last week, and Kane tells him that he's been an entitled, spoiled brat ever since he helped him win the Money in the Bank Briefcase. Kane tells Rollins he won't be in his corner tonight, and extends that courtesy to Big Show...who also decides not to side with Rollins, either.
Ryback beats The Miz. Miz hits the Skull-crushing Finale while Mizdow was helping him up and storms out afterwards.
Michael Cole hosts the contract signing for the United States title match between John Cena and Rusev at WrestleMania 31. John Cena shows up first, and says that the contract that he is about to sign is the most important one of all due to all that is at stake, and says that while Rusev is United States champ, he represents everyone in the crowd, and says that's not a good thing. He plans to fix that by beating Rusev at WrestleMania. He then signs the contract. Cole then introduces Rusev, who is without Lana and is dressed in a suit for once. Another representative takes Lana's place, and they both walk down the ring so Rusev can sign the contract, which he almost does. The guy who accompanied Rusev, however, is his attorney, who says that Rusev will not sign, saying that Rusev did not agree to this match in any way. However, he says that Rusev will sign if Cena curbs his "American barbaric behavior" and lets Rusev read his written statement, where he proceeds to bash America. Cena wants to jump Rusev, but the attorney gets in the way. After Rusev is done, he signs the contract, then topples the table, almost hitting Cena with it before fleeing.
Tyson Kidd & Cesaro beats The New Day (Big e. & Kofi Kingston). After the match, Los Matadores (Fernando & Diego), who were at ringside during the match, brawled with The New Day. Xavier Woods is thrown in the ring by Los Matadores, only to be Neutralized by Cesaro. El Torito gets involved, sneak attacking Cesaro from behind. Cesaro tries to come back, but is ultimately tossed out of the ring by Torito.
Seth Rollins tells J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) to stay on their game and be in his corner, but Noble is at odds with Rollins for not trusting him concerning Orton and telling him and Mercury to leave last week. Both of them argue, and Noble quits after Rollins slaps him in the face and Mercury has to stop him from fighting each other. Mercury walks away along with Noble soon after this.
Brock Lesnar speaks about his current situation regarding his WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns in a pre-taped interview.
Big Show viciously assaults Erick Rowan before their match can even begin.
"The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko is announced as the next inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
Mark Henry throws his hat into the ring for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, then eliminates everyone in an unofficial mini-battle royal, especially the cheating Curtis Axel.
Thursday on SmackDown: 6-Being Interspecies Match - Natalya, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro vs. El Torito & Los Matadores!
Paul Heyman is in the ring. He states that Brock Lesnar will destroy Roman Reigns and walk away with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31. As Heyman keeps saying that Roman Reigns can't beat Lesnar, Roman Reigns shows up and says that he may get carried out, but he'll be carried out with the WWE World Heavyweight title.
Renee Young interviews Paul Heyman, who annouces that Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will say their last statements towards each other before WrestleMania 31.
R-Truth guest on commentary for the next match.
Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan beats Luke Harper, Stardust and Bad News Barrett. After the match, Luke Harper blindsides Ambrose before going after the I.C, Title, which is in R-Truth's possession. While trying to get the title, Ambrose attacks Harper from behind. Stardust is able to retrieve the title momentarily, but he and Ambrose brawl in the audience. R-Truth gets the title again, but this time, he is not as successful as Luke Harper grasps the title. Ambrose attacks him yet again. In the ring, Bryan has the title, but before he can go off with it, Bad News Barrett steps in the ring and hits three consecutive Bullhammers, and one to R-Truth on the outside of the ring.
Seth Rollins ends up making Triple H and Stephanie McMahon mad when he blames them for the chain of events that led to him, in the words of Stephanie, alienating everyone in the Authority. Stephanie tells him to man up, while Triple H tells him to get out of the office before his situation goes from bad to worse. Rollins, having now alienated HHH and Stephanie, gets out of the room.
Bray Wyatt says that The Undertaker failed to intimidate him, and that at WrestleMania, he will become the new face of fear.
Next week on Raw: Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar face-to-face; Snoop Dogg and ESPN analyst Bill Simmons will guest star on Raw next week.
Seth Rollins tells Randy Orton before their match that he has made a fool out of him in three hours after Orton fooled him for three weeks, as he reveals that The Authority (Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kane, Big Show, Joey Mercury, Jamie Noble) turned against him on purpose to mess with him. Orton grabs a steel chair, and before he can fight anyone, the lights turn off, then come back on. Sting is in the ring, and they both fight off The Authority together. Orton and Sting stand tall together in the ring.
In a WWE Network exclusive, Randy Orton tells Sting he didn't need him to have his back, but he does admit that cool and shakes hands with him. Sting also speaks for the first time ever in WWE, saying he's been waiting 14 years to get in this ring, and he plans to take Triple H down at WrestleMania 31.
The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) beats A.C.H. & Matt Sydal, thanks to the interference by a member of the KRD.
We recap the happenings of the Fatal Four Way match for the ROH World title at ROH's 13th Anniversary, which includes the return of Samoa Joe, who has his sights set on regaining the ROH World Championship.
Jay Briscoe shows up. He gives a shout out to ODB for returning his custom title belt. He confronts the judgements about the endings about the World Title, but dismisses the fact that he was lucky and reminds the fans that he is the champ. Jay fels that he is the baddest man in pro wrestling/ Suddenly, Samoa Joe shows up to a thunderous ovation. Samoa Joe agrees with Jay - that Jay did not get lucky. He commends Jay for getting the job done at the 13th Anniversary, and compares him to himself... but Joe says that Jay is not as bad as he is and simply challenges him for the ROH World Title at Supercard of Honor IX.
Jimmy Jacobs is in the ring, who is not impressed with the fact that Samoa Joe threw out a challenge to Jay Briscoe for the World Title. He doesn't deny Joe's abilities, but Joe hasn't been in ROH since the days of Tyler Black (Seth Rollins, anybody?). Despite all of Joe's successes outside of ROH, Jacobs points out that ROH "gives" Joe a place to return to. He also wants a shot at the ROH World Title, and warns Nigel McGuiness that before he "gives away" a title match to Samoa Joe, he wants to take a title match.
We recap the final chapter of the rivalry between The Briscoes (Jay & Mark) and The Kingdom (Michael Bennett & Matt Taven), which culminated in a 2/3 Falls Match, with The Kingdom winning the war.
The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Michael Bennett) beats The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), thank to the interference from another (or maybe the same) KRD member to earn the right to face reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) for the ROH World Tag Team titles at Supercard of Honor IX.
It is announced that Jay Briscoe will defend the ROH World Championship against Jimmy Jacobs next week!
Bobby Roode beats Eric Young in a Last Man Standing match.
Jeremy Borash tells Rockstar Spud he doesn't have to face Ethan Carter III...but Spud has stood up to EC3, and he plans to win a decisive victory against him and shave his head bald.
Drew Galloway shows up to feel the passion from the audience and see who's up for taking back professional wrestling. Before Galloway can call out MVP, MVP shows up with The Beat Down Clan (Kenny King, Low Ki, Samoa Joe). MVP counters Galloway by mentioning the old "Chosen One" gimmick and tells his crew to head to the back to make this a one-on-one match.

Magnus beats Bram by disqualification after Bram hits a low blow in front of the ref. After the match, Bram attacks Magnus with a steel chair, then tries to tie him up and hit him with a cueball. Mickie James, who showed up ringside to will her husband through the match, is held hostage, and even her slapping Bram doesn't stop him from holding her hostage. Bram lets her go after Magnus kisses his boot, which he does. Bram leaves the ring after letting Mickie go, calling Magnus "pathetic."
Brooke beats Robbie E in an inter-gender match despite the distractions and interference attempts by Jessie Godders, DJ Z and Angelina Love.
Ethan Carter III beats Rockstar Spud in a Hair Vs. Hair match. After the match, EC3 shows respect to Spud and shakes hands with him, saying that Spud doesn't deserve to have his hair shaved tonight and that he proved that he was a man, but it was all a set-up for EC3 to attack him and shave his head in the corner.
Daniel Bryan shows up to start the show. He thanks the fans for his support, even though the doors have shut on headlining another WrestleMania. However, another door has opened, and he announces that he is in the ladder match for the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 31. Bad News Barrett shows up and says he is still Intercontinental Champion and will remain so after WrestleMania. Dolph Ziggler shows up and asks him how he can retain the title at WrestleMania if he can't keep it in his grasp right now. Luke Harper shows up after this and says he wants his WrestleMania moment before staring down Daniel Bryan. Dean Ambrose shows up, and says he's ready to mix it up with everyone in the ring right now. Stardust then shows up, still looking for the Intercontinental Championship. This starts a brawl in the ring where the faces in the ring are left standing while the heels retreat.

Roman Reigns shows up. He is disgusted - but not surprised - by Paul Heyman's words on Monday night. All of a sudden, Mark Henry shows up for the first time in about four months. He has to remind him that Heyman has gotten under his skin, and that Brock Lesnar came very close to killing him after breaking his arm with the Kimera Lock. Henry then says Roman is just like all the young bucks that come to WWE who can't seem to figure out that they have to earn their respect around here. Henry pushes Roman back violently only to eat a Superman Punch and a Spear through the barricade.

Johnny Mundo beats King Cuerno in a Steel Cage Match with the End of the World from the top of the cage!
Sup, everyone and welcome to the March 11, 2015 edition of my Lucha Underground Review! First off, let me apologize for not giving you guys a review from last week,... to much was going on. As always, Lucha Underground continues to deliver high-octane matches and storylines. Tonight, some topics I want to cover are: Konnan's revenge, grave consequences, and history being made... again. Without further ado, lets get started.
Konnan's Revenge
Tonight, there was another vignette depicting Konnan's attack by Cage from several weeks ago and him in a Matrix-like rain scene with the slogan: "Revenge is coming." For one, I am very excited about his return, because this can only continue the story of Prince Puma, who is the "Pride of Boyle Heights" so to speak. Also, Konnan is definitely looking to gain retribution against Cage, who was responsible for busting Konnan's head open with his own cane, and putting him on the shelf in the first place. Speaking of Cage, he alreayd has yet another Lucha Underground title match under his notch, and he has somewhat of the psychological adantage going into his future title match. The real question is: When will Konnan return to get his revenge? I am thinking that it will possibly be during the title match between Cage and Puma, and he will leave the fans on their ends by making the shocking return.
Grave Consequences
... and the sadistic, yet sensual mental mind games of Catrina continues! Tonight, Catrina was slithering around backstage, further dismantling the mental states of both Fenix and maybe Mil Muertes. Lately, it seems that Fenix and Catrina are some sort of item, but as I said multiple times now. this may be a plot against fenix for defeating Mil Muertes. Catrina wants Fenix to take on the inevitable task of burying Mil Muertes, which sets up Lucha Underground's first-ever casket match next week! Catrina wants Mil Muertes to feel like the lonely boy that he was during the days of his dark childhood. If Fenix were to bury, Mil Muertes, Catrina may be satisfied with his work, but she may or may not continue to be mentally detrimental to Fenix's mind. However, if Mil Muertes were to bury Fenix, Catrina may go back to him, but against her own will. The possibilities are endless, and I am very excited that this match is set up for next week. Things were going to come to a head sooner or later.
History being made... again.
Fans in the Lucha Underground Temple and at home witnessed Lucha Underground's first-ever Steel Cage Match between Johnny Mundo and King Cuerno, who developed a quickly-heated rivalry in just a few short weeks. This match was nothing short of an demolition derby, with both men using the steel cage as a lethal weapon; and taking each other to the absolute limit! Cuerno, who is usually seen as a high-flyer, really put on the heavy duty tonight, showing that he can be a powerhouse as well. Mundo wins with his signature End of the World maneuver from the top of the cage. The fans were roaring in appreciation, and this match had me on the edge of my seat. Lucha Underground has been on a roll with these classics as of late. And you can only imagine what will happens as 2015 rolls on.
Well, folks, that's it for this week's review! I will be back next week for another one (I mean it, everyone!!!). Until next week, keep on flyin'. LUCHA! LUCHA! LUCHA!
