The Code of Honor - Ring of Honor Wrestling recap for January 23, 2016

Brian Fury beats Shaheem Ali in the first round of the Top Prospect Tournament to advance.

Veda Scott and Cedric Alexander show up. Veda says that Cedric has been a victim to ROH's safety, and that there journey to justice was sweet (which may meant that they may have won their case). She says that Johnathan Gresham's victory was a fluke, and proclaims Cedric to be the best in the world, and challenges the biggest stars on the roster...but, the challenge is accepted by Cheeseburger, who became popular during his recent tour with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Cedric Alexander beats Cheeseburger...and attacks him after the match until Johnathan Gresham runs in for the save. Veda grabs the mic and taunts Gresham and says that Cedric is gonna destroy him, and calls a rematch between Cedric and Gresham!

Johnathan Gresham beats Cedric Alexander via disqualification when Veda blatantly interferes. Cedric attack Gresham, who momentarily fights back, before referees run down to the ring to break up the brawl.

As Nigel McGuiness is going to make announcements about ROH's 14th Anniversary, Jay Lethal and Truth Martini come to the ring. He commends Lethal for his series of title defenses, and says that being the champion being the best in the world. When it comes to credible contenders, Nigel suggests Kyle O'Reilly, but Lethal says that it'll be like a night off. However, Nigel recalls Adam Cole's win at Final Battle, which makes him number one contender. With this, Cole approaches the ring...and it's Storytime with Adam Cole, and he says that he's ended his battles with O'Reilly, and says that Lethal has never beat him in a title match. Cole declares that a new champion will be crowned. Nigel, in turn, says that Kyle O'Reilly is still a credible contender, and makes it a triple threat match for the ROH World Championship. O'Reilly approaches the ring! O'Reilly says that he wants a piece of both of Lethal and Cole, and says that he wants them right now! Nigel calls it, and sets up a tag team match of Lethal and Cole vs. reDRagon to take place in Charlotte, NC!

We recap Silas Young vs Dalton Castle at Final Battle!

Silas Young says that he spent three months teaching The Boys to be men, but accuses Dalton Castle of manipulating them, and gives The Boys a chance to come back, or they will be sorry...

Before the main event, Stokley Hathaway cones out with Moose and says that his client should be in the ring with the best, so he puts Moose in the main event!

Jay Briscoe beats Michael Elgin and Moose in a triple threat match. Elgin grabs the mic and says that he and Jay are even, but he says it took him and Moose to beat me. He says that Mark Briscoe has helped him as a brother, and says that tonight does not sit so well with him. He challenges The Briscoe to match against himself and New Japan's Hiroshi Tanahashi at ROH's 14th Anniversary!

The Code of Honor - Ring of Honor Wrestling recap for January 16, 2016

The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) beats ACH & Alex Shelley. The Addiction attacks after the match, with Sabin watching his former tag partner Shelley taking a beating. Daniels finds a hammer a knock at out the referee with it. Nigel McGuiness grabs the mic and suspends Daniels without pay for the raucous attack on the referee. Daniels is outraged as he is forced out of the building.

Mark Briscoe beats Adam Page.

The Decade (BJ Whitmer, Adam Page, Colby Corino) is still in the ring, and says that Mr. Wrestling III is actually Steve Corino and says that he should step up and show Colby Corino how to be a man. Mr. Wrestling III goes into the ring, but BJ still insists that he is Steve Corino. Mr Wrestling III still says that he is not Steve Corino. He says that he knows someone that wants Corino to take out BJ, and tells him to get the hell out of here.

As Kevin Kelly and Mr. Wrestling III are hyping the main event, Silas Young walks to ringside. He grabs the mic and says that what happened at Final Battle was a disappointment, and says that The Boys were like family to him. He says that Dalton Castle has a mental hold on these boys, and gives them one last chance to become men.

The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) beats The Kingdom (Adam Cole & Michael Bennett) and reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) with the help of AJ Styles, following two IndyTakers on Maria and Michael Bennett.

The Code of Honor - Ring of Honor Wrestling recap for January 9, 2016

The All Night XPress (Kenny King & Rhett Titus) beats Roppongi Vice (Rocky Romero & Trent Barreta) following a surprise roll-up by Kenny King.

The Kingdom (Michael Bennett, Maria Kanellis, Matt Taven, Adam Cole) show up for the first time since Final Battle. Adam Cole says that it's time for storytime! He says that security accompanied them to the ring in order to restrain Kyle O'Reilly. He recalls how he beat O'Reilly, but calls out Bennett and Taven for losing the ROH World Tag Team Titles. Suddenly, reDRagon (Fish & O'Reilly) show up, being held back back security. Fish says that O'Reilly is still after Cole, and he challenges The Kingdom to a tag team match. Nigel McGuiness grabs the mic, and says that reDRagon will take on The Kingdom in next week's main event. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) make a surprise appearance. Matt says that they reinvented tag team Wrestling instead of reDRagon, and vows to take out The Kingdom in a triple threat match. Nigel agrees to it, but in a Philly Street Fight!

War Machine (Raymond Rowe & Hanson) beats The House of Truth (Donovan Dijak & J. Diesel).

The House of Truth is still in the ring. Truth confronts Dijak, and says that he is the "weak link of the group". He says that if Dijak loses, HE loses. Truth claims that Dijak didn't do what eh was suppose to do at Final Battle, and that it was a slap in his face. Martini then slaps him in the face, and Dijak snaps! Dijak attacks J. Diesel, laying him out with Feast Your Eyes, and he is ultimately fired by Truth Martini thus making Dijak a "free agent".

reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) are ready for next week's Philly Street Fight, and says that The Kingdom and The Young Bucks don't know what's coming.

We recap Dalton Castle getting The Boys back at Final Battle.

Dalton Castle beats Jay Briscoe, Moose and Matt Sydal in a Four Corner Survival Match.

My ROH Final Battle Predictions!

PRE-SHOW MATCH:

Cheeseburger vs Bob Evans

Every since the disbanding of Brutal Burgers, Bob Evans has stopped at nothing to put an end to his former tag team partner. Will he finally accomplish his goal in the kick-off match for ROH's biggest event of the year?

Winner: I think Cheeseburger will win this one.

Jay Lethal (c) vs. A.J. Styles for the ROH World Championship

Without a doubt, these two men have had two of the greatest years of their respective careers. Lethal was at one point the holder of both the ROH World & Television titles. Styles has had blockbuster success in Japan as a member of The Bullet Club and as a former two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Who will end their year with a bang, and have the bragging rights to call himself "the man"?

Winner: Lethal's has been at the top of the mountain for over the last half of the year, and I think it's time for him to come down. I see Styles taking the title tonight.

The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Michael Bennett)(c) vs War Machine (Hanson & Raymond Rowe) for the ROH World Tag Team Championship

ROH has one of - if not the best tag team division in professional wrestling right now, and these two teams are the primary reasons why. Who will come out of this match with the gold and on the top of the tag team division?

Winner: The Kingdom retains.

Roderick Strong (c) vs. Bobby Fish for the ROH World Television Championship

reDRagon member Bobby Fish looks to capture singles gold against a man who has done it all in ROH. However, don't think "Mr. ROH" is going to take it easy on the always outspoken tag team proponent. Fish has been able to use some mind games on Roddy, but it may have just made him more focused than ever.

Winner: Roddy retains.

Adam Cole vs Kyle O'Reilly in a Fight Without Honor match

These two men went from being upstarts as Future Shock, to bitter enemies, to maintaining some form of friendship, and to being bitter enemies again. This time, Adam Cole has one thing in mind: to send O'Reilly out of Ring of Honor for good. This is as personal as it gets.

Winner: Man, this is hard, but I'll risk it and say O'Reilly.

Moose vs. Michael Elgin

It's the battle of the big men to see who is really the more powerful man of Ring of Honor. This all started when Moose teamed with Elgin versus The House of Truth, but Moose sneaks a tag and gets the win with his signature Spear. This match is not only a battle of strength, but it is a battle for respect.

Winner: For some reason, I see Moose getting the win.

The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. The All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King) in a three-way number one contenders match for the ROH World Tag Team Championship

As I stated earlier, ROH's tag team division is composed of some of the greatest tag teams on the planet today. One team in particular, ANX (Kenny King and Rhett Titus), look to regain the titles which they said they "never lost" (this is due to Kenny King jumping ship to TNA for almost four years), and they wll stop at nothing to get them. However, they have a lot on their hands, as we have the eight-time champs in The Briscoes (Jay & Mark) and the highly decorated tag team and Bullet Club members, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson).

Winner: Taking a risk again and going with ANX. It would make sense, right?

Alex Shelley, Matt Sydal and ACH vs. The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) and Chris Sabin

For months now, there have been many speculations as to who was the man with the orange mask constantly interfering on The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)'s behalf. Many believed it to be Sabin, but a few weeks back, the man in questioning was Sabin's former Motorcity Machine Guns tag team partner and Time Splitters member Alex Shelley. Now Shelley's in ROH ready to take on his former partner, with the help of rising tag team, ACH and Matt Sydal.

Winner: Shelley, Sydal and ACH got this one.

Dalton Castle vs. Silas Young

Every since Dalton Castle lost his "boys" to Silas Young, he seems lost in the shuffle without them. Now, Slias (along with the Beer City Bruiser) is teaching the boys to be men. Shockingly enough, when Castle asks the boys to leave Silas, they go with him instead of Castle. Not long after, they attack Castle and leave him high and dry. Will the same scenario occur at Final Battle? Or will there be a plot twist of sorts...?

Winner: Dalton Castle may get this (notice that I am taking a lot of risks in these predictions)

That's it for me, folks! Enjoy the PPV if you are tuning in! I know I will!

The Code of Honor - Ring of Honor Wrestling recap for November 7, 2015

Nigel McGuiness takes King Corino's place on commentary this week.

ACH beats Cedric Alexander, despite numerous distraction attempts by Veda Scott. Kevin Kelly interviews ACH, who say that he will walk in with same mentality that he had when wrestling the likes of A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe. He vows to have his hand raised in the finale of the Best of Five Series against Matt Sydal.

Veda Scott and Cedric Alexander are still at ringside... and enraged. Veda Scott continues to blame Nigel for running an "unsafe environment" and she is still looking to sue the company.

Before the next match, Caprice Coleman acknowledges Will Ferrera for his hard work in his career so far. However, he says the more he mentored him, the less they talked. Nonetheless, Caprice tells Ferrera to bring his best, as he hasn't "seen nothing yet".

Caprice Coleman beats Will Ferrera via submission. During the match, Prince Nana is at ringside signing  checks... or some sort. Also, Caprice showed more heel tendencies against Will Ferrera, including "adhering" to the Code of Honor. Prince Nana gives Ferrera the same type of envelope he handed Caprice several weeks ago.

Adam Cole hosts a segment, "Storytime with Adam Cole.. Bay Bay!". Cole discusses his hatred for O'Reilly and how he pinned him last week, thus proclaiming himself "the better man". He then recalls his "Hybrid Fighting Rules" match against O"Reilly back at Best in the World 2012, which was a breakthrough match for both men. Cole says that as long that he is in this company, O"Reilly will never be ROH World Champion, and he wants him gone from the company forever.

Kevin Kelly interviews Prince Nana. When asked what is in the envelopes he handed to Caprice Coleman and Will Ferrera, Nana says that this is the "Age of Enlightenment". Nana says that if the men follow the steps in the envelopes, they will make big names for themselves. As for him, he is far from done.

We loo back at The All-Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King)'s return to ROH against The Briscoes (Jay & Mark) at All Star Extravaganza 8!

The Briscoes (Jay & Mark) beats The All-Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King),

The Code of Honor - Ring of Honor Wrestling recap for October 31, 2015

Kyle O'Reilly vows revenge on Adam Cole for screwing him out of the ROH World Champion at All-Star Extravaganza!

Mark Briscoe and ROH matchmaker Nigel McGuiness will be on commentary throughout the episode.

During their tag team match with The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Silas Young says that the Bucks were originally supposed to face The Boys (The Tate Twins), and since he and The Beer City Bruiser fought some of the battle for them, he forces them to "finish" it against the Bucks.

The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) beats The Boys (The Tate Twins - Brandon & Brent), who are decked out in less flashy attire, may I add. Despite doing their best in the match  - Silas and BCB attack the Boys, but the Young Bucks come to their aid by superkicking Beer City Bruiser, but Silas escapes.

Back from commercial, BJ Whitmer taunts Nigel McGuiness to leave ringside, but Mark Briscoe jumps to his defense.

Kevin Kelly announces that Nigel McGuiness was handed "papers" earlier today, which means that Veda Scott is filing a lawsuit of some sort against Ring of Honor.

Roderick Strong beats Will Ferrera with the Strong Hold submission. The two adhere to the Code of Honor after the match.

"The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon breaks down the rivalry between Roderick Strong and Jay Lethal on this week's "Inside ROH".

Jay Lethal guests on commentary for the main event match.

Before the three-way main event, Nigel McGuiness throws out everybody in the corner of the three opponents.

Adam Cole beats Kyle O'Reilly and A.J. Styles. The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Michael Bennett) attacks O'Reilly afterwards, but are followed by Bobby Fish, Michael Elgin and The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), who join in on the brawl. The Bullet Club (Styles, Bucks) finish off The Kingdom with a double Metzler Driver. Jay Lethal comes back into the ring and have a stare down with A.J. Styles, holding up both his championships to end the show.

The Code of Honor - Ring of Honor Wrestling recap for October 17, 2015

Jay Briscoe says that Adam Page does not know what he got himself into for the No Holds Barred main event (which Parental Discretion is advised).

The All Night Xpress (Kenny King & Rhett Titus) beats The Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) following the distraction by a man with the orange mask (presumably Chris Sabin, who was barred from ringside for the match).

The Kingdom (Maria Kanellis, Michael Bennett, Matt Taven, Adam Cole) show up. Michael Bennett compares the snake's revenge to Adam Cole's recent betrayal of O'Reilly. Maria grabs the mic and says that she manages the best faction in professional wrestling history. And she says that even if she works in a male-dominated industry, she doesn't have to follow a man's rules. Matt Taven says that the group is something special, and that the success in wrestling is depicted by the gold on their shoulders. Taven says that the group will not stop until Adam Cole is once again the ROH World Champion, and that they will hold all the gold. Cole grabs the mic, and says that he turned his back on Kyle O'Reilly, because he feels that O'Reilly doesn't deserve to be the ROH World Champion, and that he was the better member of Future Shock. He's offended that the likes of O'Reilly, Styles and Elgin were chosen for title matches, but he wasn't chosen. Cole says that he is the only legitimate contender for the ROH World Championship, and vows that the World and TV Championship are coming to The Kingdom. Suddenly, reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) are held back by security up the ramp. Bobby Fish says that he and Kyle are taking them out, but Cole says that he can't see them two taking on the three of them. Michael Elgin shows up to even the odds and goes on a war path. Elgin grabs the mic and says that "Big Mike" is giving reDRagon back up.

"The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon breaks down the rivalry between Dalton Castle and Silas Young on this week's "Inside ROH."

Adam Cole goes one-on-one next week with A.J. Styles... and he says that the third match's a charm, with the most phenomenal part of the match is Cole dropping him on his head.

B.J. Whitmer guests on commentary for the next match.

Jay Briscoe beats Adam Page in an No Holds Barred Match.

Wrestler of the Day - 10/10: Samoa Joe!

Today's Wrestler of the Day is the "Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe!

From his days as a dominant force in Ring of Honor, to his long withstanding tenure in TNA, to making his mark on WWE's developmental territory of NXT, Samoa Joe is the epitome of greatness. With a wrestling style that is heavily influenced by MMA and brawling styles, Joe has been one of the driving forces on the independent circuit, and more notably promotions such as Ring of Honor and TNA for a decade before landing in NXT. His track record speaks for itself, including his single ROH World Title reign being the longest in the company's history. Classic matches with the likes of CM Punk, A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels, Kurt Angle and even the legendary Kenta Kobashi, greatly depicts how great of a wrestler Joe really is. Now, coming off of a win in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with Finn Balor, things are going well for Joe in NXT, and things can only go up from here.

Here's the 5 Star, 2005 Match of the Year classic of Joe vs. Kobashi. Been looking for this match for a long time, and now is a great time to show it here. Enjoy!

Wrestler of the Day - 10/8: Adam Cole!

Playing catch up today. Grrr....

Today’s Wrestler of the Day is none other than Adam Cole BAY BAY! Yes, I had to do that.

In just seven years (and yes, that’s a short amount of time in my opinion), Adam Cole has become one of the top performers on the American independent circuit and without a doubt one of the best wrestlers on the planet today. Cole’s time in Ring of Honor has definitely put him on the map, from teaming with Kyle O’Reilly as Future Shock to winning his first world title, the ROH World Championship that is. Cole is also a former PWG World Champion, and the longest reigning champion in the title’s history. Some of his greatest work comes in the form of great matches with the likes of A.J. Styles, Jay Briscoe, Shinsuke Nakamura and even his former tag team partner Kyle O’Reilly to name a few. Now a member of The Kingdom alongside, Maria Kanellis, Michael Bennett and Matt Taven, he has one goal in mind: to recapture the ROH World Championship. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind seeing him become the third two-time ROH World Champion. As I always say, only time will tell…

Here's an Adam Cole throwback for ya, from his tenure in CZW, where he faces off against Johnny Gargano and Kyle O'Reilly!

Earlier today, Nigel McGuiness welcomed the fans to the TV Taping, and proceeds with his announcements. He then talks about the ROH World Title main event of Roderick Strong vs. Jay Lethal. Roddy contacted Nigel last night demanding a rematch - which he gladly accepts. Rodrick Strong will get another shot at the World title on August 21st, with the winner of that match defending the title at All-Star Extravaganza against reDRagon member, Kyle O'Reilly on September 18th. Also, in three weeks, Jay Lethal will defend the ROH World Television title against War Machine member, Hanson on Ring of Honor Wrestling television.
