ROH Glory By Honor XII Results for October 26th, 2013

Silas Young def Mark Briscoe via roll-up with his feet on the ropes

Jimmy Jacobs def Adam Page

Michael Bennett def. Kevin Steen in a match billed as "Piledriver vs. Piledrver". There was a spot in the match where Steen got Bennett up for the F-Cinq, but seeing Maria, decided to hit a GTS instead. Maria caused a distraction that would lead to Bennett stealing the win, of course, with a piledriver. After the match, Bennett brought Steen out to the apron, but Lisa Marie Varon came out and attacked Maria, hitting her with the Widow's Peak.

Steve Corino makes his return to Ring of Honor!

Tommaso Ciampa def. Jessy Sorensen. Medics came out to check on Jessy after the match, but he waved them off. The crowd was very happy to see him back in action, despite not having actually wrestled much for TNA.

Paul London def. Roderick Strong with the Shooting Star Press.

All-Stars def. ROH Champions. Michael Elgin pinned ROH World Champion Adam Cole, and will get a shot at him in the future. The match was "definitely more than an hour long; maybe an hour and a half, but still extremely fun."

  • Adam Cole eliminated Caprice Coleman
  • Michael Elgin eliminated Kyle O'Reilly
  • Adam Cole eliminated Jay Lethal
  • Michael Elgin eliminated Matt Taven
  • Michael Elgin eliminated Bobby Fish

  11. WWE Championship/Hell in a Cell: Randy Orton def Daniel Bryan to become new champion

My Hell in a Cell 2013 Predictions

  1. Pre-Show: Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel vs Big E. Langston:
This all started when Paul Heyman called Big E. a "mediocre NXT rookie". This set Big E. off and he attacked Axel, thus turning face for the first time in his WWE career. I REALLY want Langston to win, because Axel's reign has been equivalent to Alberto Del rio's title reign: UNEVENTFUL! So, I'm with Big. E. THREE AIN'T ENOUGH  MAN, I NEED FIVE!

Winner: Big E. Langston, New Champion

2. Divas Championship: A.J. Lee vs Brie Bella

To be perfectly honest, I kinda like this rivalry. Tamina's getting a little push and Brie's showcasing some new moves in the ring. I would liek to see Brie as the new champion, not because I like her, it's because I feel that the whole A.J. Lee thing is winding down for the time being. With that being said, I'm with Brie Bella.

Winner: Brie Bella, New Champion

3. Los Matadores vs The Real Americans

Primo & Epi... I mean Los Matadores have been on a roll. But, you also have to watch out for Cesaro's big swing, and that mini Minotaur known as "El Torito". But, since I'm not really hype for this match, I end it with saying that I'm with Los Maadores... OLE!

Winner: Los Matadores

4. Triple Threat/WWE Tag Team Championship: Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs The Shield (Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns) vs The Usos

I'm looking forward to this match more than any other. This one should be exciting to watch. Well, Rhodes marks get mad at  me all you want, but I'm torn with  The Usos & Shield members, Rollins & Reigns. Need I remind you of the sensational match these two teams had at the Money In The Bank Pre-Show? Anyways, this whole corporate storyline is NOT over. It's like a back-and-forth war, a counter for each attack. Also, the Rhodes and The Usos may be against The Shield, but at the end of the day, they all have massive egos (in this business, who doesn't), and they will clash whether you like it or not. Either way, I think the titles are going to change hands.

Winner: Usos or The Shield, New Champions

5. 2-on-1 Handicap Match: CM Punk vs Paul Heyman & Ryback

I'm gonna admit, like the tag team title match, I was torn between picking. The whole buildup to this match is pure magic, especially with crafty work of Heyman and Punk, respectively. But, since I mark for Punk like crazy, I'll go with him.

Winner: CM Punk

6. World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena vs Alberto Del Rio

Ah, typical WWE. Calling on "Superman" John Cena to save the ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if he did become a 14-time World Champion at Hell in a Cell. But, on the bright side of things, this gives WWE a chance to finally get the title off of Del Rio. So, I'm with Cena.

Winner: John Cena, New Champion

7. Hell in a Cell/WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton (with Shawn Michaels as the Special Guest Referee)

Welp, Vacant's long tite reign comes to an end tonight. This match should be a great one, because of the builup and previous matches. I wonder how Shawn Michaels is going to play out in this match: will he be fair? Or will he follow by Triple H's side? We'll have to find out. Until then, I'm with Daniel Bryan. YES! YES! YES!

Winner: Daniel Bryan, New Champion

Former TNA & WWE Star to debut in Ring of Honor?

(Maria vs Tara, FWE Women's Title tournament)

Recently, Ring of Honor Wrestling posted a segment on YouTube which featured Maria Kanellis signing autographs at "The Squared Circle" in Chicago. Apparently, Lisa Marie Varon (formerly Tara in TNA and Victoria in WWE) gave her the wrong drink and they got into it. Varon then says that Kevin Steen will destroy her fiance' Michael Bennett at Glory By Honor XII.

To be honest, I kind of dig this confrontation. Being that Lisa was recently released from TNA after 4 years and she's currently a free agent. Many think that this is a set up of Varon making her debut and entering a feud with "The First Lady of ROH". Let's recall that Maria's only high-profile feud to date was with the "Queen of Wrestling" Sara Del Rey which unfortunately ended when Sara signed a contract with WWE. This can really help with putting Kanellis on the map as a "Woman of Honor", instead of being just Mike Bennett's valet. I sense something in the works, and it's really good.

Two Prominent Independent Wrestlers Retire From Professional Wrestling

As die hard independet wrestling fans know, two prominent figures of the circuit has retired from wrestling. Those two being "The Buzzsaw" B.J. Whitmer and Low Ki. Here are some details on how they reached their careers end:

(B.J. Whitmer, via rohwrestling.com)

B.J. Whitmer- Although B.J. Whitmer is no stranger to severe injuries, this injury proved to be the one can't bounce back from. It all hit the fan at Ring of Honor's All-Star Extravanganza which was contested in the ROH World Championship tournament where he faced "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett. During the match, Bennett botched a piledriver on the apron, causing Whitmer to lose feeling from the neck-down. The match was then thrown out. On Spetember 20, 2013, he announced his retirement during an episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling, 13 years of hard work and dedication to the sport.

(Low Ki as Kaval, WWE NXT, examiner.com)

Low-Ki- In 15 years, Low Ki can truly say he's done it all. From winning prestigious tournaments to notoriously being stiff, he was really an exciting wrestler to watch. His illustrious career came to an end during a match for All Japan Pro Wrestling. He was severly injured and was pulled from wrestling in any AJPW shows. He then announced his retirement on Twitter on October 14th, 2013. It was then found out that he injured his abdominal.

In my opinion, these two are big reasons why independent circuit fans buy the tickets and go to the shows. Both were formidable competitors and sound technicians in the squared circle. The sad thing about this is that Low Ki is 34 and B.J, Whitmer is 36. Both are still young and not even at their primes yet. Either way, both left their marks on the sport of professional wrestling. Question is: What will their careers be like if the injuries hadn't taken their toll?

He tosses the ref out and hits Daniel Bryan...then Brad Madox brings out Scott Armstrong. He makes the count only to be pushed back out of the ring and get knocked out as well. Show then confronts Orton and punches him out before staring down Maddox to end the show.

  1.

My Bound For Glory 2013 Predictions

This will be taking the place for Impact Wrestling Results!

  1. 4 Way #1 Contenders Match for the World Tag Team Championship (Pre-Show): The Bromans vs  Bad Influence vs Hernandez & Chavo Guerrero vs Joseph Park & EY
This match to me should be entertaining (at the expense of E.Y./Park and The Bromans). But, Bad Influence won a non-title match against James Storm & Gunner to be apart of the Bound For Glory Series. Also, Hernandez & Chavo began to taunt their tag title reign. I'll go with Bad Influence for this one.

Winner: Bad Influence

2. 3 Way/Knockouts Championship: ODB vs Brooke vs Gail Kim

FINALLY! ODB wins her 4th KOs Title. But, with Lei'D Tapa on the loose, I don't think there will be a sure winner for this. Tapa attacked ODB 2 weeks prior and she's also attacked Velvet Sky. With that in mind, will she attack ODB so either Brooke or Gail can gain the upper hand or will she just after anyone she pleases? Still, I'll go with ODB.

Winner: ODB retains

3. Sting vs Magnus

There has been some tension between the two Main Event Mafia members lately. Magnus is tired of being on the losing side every since his Bound For Glory dream was broken. Recently, Sting tried to help Magnus in his match against Bully Ray, but it all backfired when Bully Ray picked up the win. I don't know why, but I feel that this may end up with Magnus turning heel and ultimately leaving the Main Event Mafia. With that being said, I'll go with Magnus.

Winner: Magnus (Heel turn?)

4. World Tag Team Championship: James Storm & Gunner vs Winners of the Pre-Show match

Well, in this one I see that advantage in Storm & Gunner, but I have a feeling that Bad Influence are going to come out top and try to gain the upper hand by adding Bobby Roode to the mix. But, I'll go with Storm & Gunner retaining, just to see how my predictions play out. :-)

Winner: James Storm & Gunner retain

5. Ultimate X/X Division Championship: Manik vs Jeff Hardy vs Samoa Joe vs Chris Sabin vs Austin Aries

This is the match I'm very excited for. Featuring a first time competitor in Jeff Hardy, Two X Division originals in Joe and Sabin, current champ Manik, and longest reigning X Champion and the creator of "Option C". Call me stupid, but I see Sabin winning the title for a 7th time. Why? I want to see how this heel thing play out and also see if he can successfully use "Option C" to win his second World Championship. I d these predictions for fun, so I'll go with Sabin.

Winner: New Champion, 7th time, Chris Sabin

6. Bobby Roode vs Kurt Angle

Since the mockery of Kurt Angle's Hall of Fame Induction, Kurt Angle will love nothing more than to get his hands on the self-professed "It Factor of Professional Wrestling". At first, I saw Bobby Roode winning this match, but when Kurt Angle is back and stronger than ever, there's no stopping the Olympic Gold Medalist. So, I'll go with the new TNA Hall of Famer.

Winner: Kurt Angle

7. TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Bully Ray vs A.J. Styles

I SERIOUSLY believe that this is a parody of CM Punk rebelling against WWE authorities. Punk's contract was almost expired as well. A.J. is also going down the same path as Punk. Punk won the WWE title the night his contract expired, defeating John Cena. I believe that Styles will do the same. This build-up is very good and I hoping that Styles will finally win the title after over 3 years of not being the World Champion. STYLES ALL THE WAY!!!

Winner: New Champion, A.J. Styles

Los Matadores (Fernando & Diego) def 3MB (Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal)

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon show up. They're filing charges against Big Show after last week, and are second-guessing their generosity before repeating such an ordeal like they had with Show. Triple H is angry at the crowd reaction from what happened to him last week, and says Big Show will grovel back to him, as will anyone who gets out of line with him or Stephanie at this point. If anyone even thinks the word "Yes!," then they had better start praying. Daniel Bryan shows up and starts a "Yes!" chant only to be attacked by Alberto Del Rio.
