This is a professional wrestling blog that includes reviews, recaps, some news and any wrestling-related discussions of my choosing. Companies span from WWE to New Japan Pro Wrestling to AAA in Mexico. Don't just read recaps... watch them!
Edge and Christian host the Cutting Edge Peep Show again to start off Main Event. They announce that due to the actions of Seth Rollins, Big Show and J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble), they have filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit, and their crack team of lawyers will make sure Edge and Christian own and operate the WWE. They then announce their guest for tonight's Cutting Edge Peep Show: Adam Rose. After some joking around, Edge and Christian ask about The Bunny...and Adam Rose goes from cheerful to sour, calling them "lemons." Adam Rose says he put The Bunny down for good, and doesn't deserve to be in the Exotic Express anymore. Edge and Christian then want to do a five-second pose with the Exotic Express...but not Adam Rose. Rose says the Express only does what he tells them to, then tells them to head to the back with them. They stay in the ring instead. Edge and Christian does the five-second pose with them, much to Rose's chagrin.
Charlotte beats Sasha Banks.
Santino Marella is a man alone for his New Year's Eve party until Erick Rowan comes along, asking where the party is. At least he's not alone anymore.
Titus O'Neil beats Justin Gabriel.
Santino Marella laughs it up with Erick Rowan when R-Truth shows up. He quickly leaves due to the lack of people and music.
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat Gold & Stardust (Goldust and Stardust).
The show starts off with Edge's retirement speech from the April 11, 2011 edition of Raw.
Edge and Christian start off the proceedings. They compromise and combine Peep Show and Cutting Edge to do a Cutting Edge Peep Show, with tonight's guest being Seth Rollins...who takes on Roman Reigns tonight. Also, Rusev will take on Dolph Ziggler in a Champion vs. Champion match, although neither of them will be naked, much to Christian's disappointment. Daniel Bryan will be here later to talk about his future. Edge and Christian then begin to do the five-second pose for all those with flash photography, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman show up. Lesnar isn't in the mood to destroy Edge or Christian; instead, he's more focused on John Cena, according to Heyman. Cena shows up. He promises to take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back at Royal Rumble, then puts his hands on Paul Heyman. Lesnar goes for Cena, but Cena has Lesnar read like a book. Lesnar breaks out of the Attitude Adjustment and retreats along with Paul Heyman.
Dolph Ziggler beats Rusev by disqualification when Rusev keeps Ziggler in the corner for too long. Rusev then locks the Accolade on Ziggler and uses the ropes to do more damage. As officials try to get him off Ziggler, Ryback shows up and forces Rusev to retreat.
Ryback talks about his road to where he is now: being a guest bell ringer as a kid at his first WWE live event in Las Vegas, $1,000,000 Tough Enough, going through depression, getting back in the groove and being re-signed by WWE, breaking his ankle in three places, beating the doctor's expectations, and becoming The Ryback. After a video package of Ryback, Ryback tells Rusev that this won't be just a USA vs. Russia, it's going to be a "big guy giving another big guy an ass-kicking thing" at Royal Rumble.
Nikki Bella beats Natalya after the distraction from Brie Bella.
Naomi thanks The Miz backstage, telling him that thanks to his connections to the music producer, she has future projects outside of WWE lined up. She wishes Miz luck on his tag team title match against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso).
The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The Miz and Damien Mizdow to win the WWE Tag Team Championships! They celebrate with Naomi, and Jerry Lawler interviews The Usos after the match. They declare 2014 "the Year of the Usos," and they're throwing a party, with barbeque involved. Jerry Lawler is, of course, invited.
Cesaro is in the ring. He says 2014 should have been his year after winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30, but WWE says he doesn't connect with the WWE Universe. He doesn't care about connecting with the Universe; he just cares about putting a show every night. He issues an open challenge to anyone who doubts him...and the person who answers is none other than Bad News Barrett, who is back after being on the injured list for six months.
Bad News Barrett beats Cesaro.
Luke Harper has a message for those who want to toss him aside like trash and cast him as a social pariah: he's a nightmare come to life. Sweet dreams.
Luke Harper beats Jack Swagger.
John Cena, Edge and Christian chat backstage about days gone by. Cena thanks Edge for everything he's done for him.
Big Show guests on commentary for the next match.
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins ends with interference from Big Show, who tosses Reigns over the commentary table and topples the whole table on top of him.
Seth Rollins announces to J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) that he plans to have a New Year's toast to John Cena tonight on the Cutting Edge Peep Show and invites Cena to join him. He tells J&J Security to spread the word.
Next week on Raw: Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt in an Ambulance Match!
Bray Wyatt says that everything must come full circle, and promises that he'll put Dean Ambrose in an ambulance and end this story.
Tomorrow night on Main Event: Santino Marella's New Year's Party!
Daniel Bryan shows up. After telling everyone that being in the ring with them has helped take the pain of being out of the ring away, Bryan announces he is not retiring and that he will be in the Royal Rumble.
The Miz and Damien Mizdow barge in on Christian playing the kazoo to demand a rematch against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Edge (and his stunt double puppet) gives them a match, but it's not against The Usos and it's not for the tag titles.
The Miz and Damien Mizdow's opponents are none other than The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor), now making their official debut on the main roster.
The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) beat The Miz and Damien Mizdow.
Friday Night on SmackDown: The Cutting Edge Peep Show with Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt as special guests.
Renee Young interviews Seth Rollins, who confirms he's inviting John Cena to the Cutting Edge Peep Show for his "celebration"
It's the Cutting Edge Peep Show! Edge and Christian's guest tonight is Seth Rollins, who considers them heroes and an inspiration for him to start wrestling. He wants to ring in 2015, but he doesn't want to do it alone...so he calls out Big Show, who shows up. He also calls out John Cena, who doesn't come out immediately. Rollins then says he wants something from Cena, but when Cena doesn't show up, Rollins decides to force his hand by attacking Christian with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Edge shoves Rollins, and he is soon surrounded by Big Show, Rollins, and J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble). Show forces Edge to the ground, and they all threaten to paralyze Edge for life. John Cena rushes in, but Rollins threatens to break Edge permanently if Cena doesn't bring back Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. John has no choice but to bring them back, but it's all a trick as Rollins attempts to Curb Stomp Edge. Cena fights everyone off but is easily outnumbered. After John Cena is taken down, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar show up, and Rollins shakes hands with Heyman. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon then appear at the top of the ramp to end the show.

The show begins with Hulk Hogan. He's running the show tonight. He reminisces about the good times until Seth Rollins shows up with J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble). He credits Hogan for him entering the ring, but tells him to get out of the ring because he doesn't belong in it anymore and the ring belongs to him. After arguing with Hogan, Seth Rollins complains about Triple H and Stephanie not being in power yet again. Hulk Hogan then reminds him that he lost out last week to Dolph Ziggler, who Hulk considers the future of WWE. Ziggler shows up, admits Rollins is the future of WWE, then tells Rollins that if he is then he shouldn't show his face for another ten years. Big Shows up and kisses up to Rollins before threatening to knock people out, but Roman Reigns shows up to warn him not to get in the ring unless he wants to get hit in the mouth again. Hulk Hogan makes a tag match between the team of Roman Reigns and Dolph Ziggler and the team of Seth Rollins and Big Show.
Ryback beats Kane despite the attempted interference and distraction from Rusev and Lana. After the match, Rusev and Ryback stare down, then Ryback has to fight off both Kane and Rusev. After two choke slams from Kane, Rusev puts Ryback in the Accolade.

The show starts with Ho-Ho-Hogan...as Hulk Hogan shows up dressed as Santa Claus. He's got some gifts for tonight: Roman Reigns vs. Big Show, and a Miracle on 34th Street Fight between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt. John Cena shows up, and says he wanted a Frozen Sing-Along Play Set until what happened last week in his match against Seth Rollins. He wants a rematch against Seth Rollins as his new Christmas wish, and after he asks Ho-Ho-Hogan for it, Rollins shows up, reminds everyone he's The Future of WWE, then whines about Triple H and Stephanie McMahon not running the show again while Ho-Ho-Hogan is and how he plans to attack Cena until he brings them back. He then wants Ho-Ho-Hogan to make his Christmas wish come true: bringing HHH and Stephanie back. John Cena tells Rollins to shut up, that he's not bringing them back, and that he can send some neon green tennis shoes up his ass and have him spitting out neon green for a week. This gives Ho-Ho-Hogan an idea: make Cena vs. Rollins the first match...and it happens next.
John Cena beats Seth Rollins.

It's time for Piper's Pit! "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's guests tonight are Lana and Rusev, who have a "special Christmas message" for the WWE Universe. Lana calls Christmas "a joke," and "the one time of the year where people pretend to be good." This gets Piper fired up. We then see footage from last week of Rusev jumping Ryback from behind, then Rusev asks if Piper believes he can crush Ryback as well as Piper himself. Piper tries to de-escalate the situtation by saying he has a present for them, and it's wrapped in a bow. The present is Ryback, who is actually wearing a big bow, and he charges Ryback. Rusev fights back, but Ryback quickly recovers and forces Rusev to retreat with a Meat Hook attempt.
Alicia Fox, Emma and Naomi beat Cameron, Paige and Summer Rae in a Santa's Helpers 6-Diva Tag Match.

Bray Wyatt beats Dean Ambrose in a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. After the match, Wyatt tries to attack Ambrose again only to be blasted with a fire extinguisher by Ambrose, who then elbow drops Wyatt from the top rope and through a table.
The show starts with Adrian Neville appearing. The crowd chants "Thank you, Neville" before he speaks. He says Zayn should be out here, and that their match at NXT TakeOver: REvolution was amazing. He gives credit where credit is due and says Zayn deserves to be the champ. He wants to shake Zayn's hand, but can't because of Kevin Owens' actions. He asks Owens if he's proud of himself, because Neville himself isn't. Not surprisingly, Kevin Owens shows up. Neville says Owens should be ashamed of himself for his actions, but Owens doesn't care, saying Neville's opinion is irrelevant himself. All he cares about is being here, and making his way to the top. He has no problem with Adrian Neville, but if he has to fight him on his way up, so be it.

Regal tells them they'll get their rematch soon.

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) beat Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. After the match, Konnor and Viktor tell Hideo Itami and Finn Balor that their war isn't over.
Kevin Owens and Adrian Neville fight to a double count-out. After the match, Kevin Owens power bombs Neville into the ring apron.
Hello, everyone! This is my first EVER review for any show from any wrestling company. The main reason that I chose Lucha Underground to review is that there is currently no wrestling website that I know of that actually reviews it (mostly due to the fact that they do not have the El Rey Network channel), so hope you guys enjoy it.
Opening Segment
First off, let me say that I am really digging the Hollywood-like scenery of the backstage segments and promo videos of previous episodes. A recap of last week’s episode was shown. Also, this week, the main promo was that of Cage (known in PWG and other indy promotions as Brian Cage), who will be making his debut very soon. If ya ask me, this dude is going to straight up dominate.
Then you have the beginning of the show before the opening match. Dario Cueto comes out and not only announces two big matches, but the two winners of the match are going to receive something special… and in case if you are wondering: NO MONEY BRIEFCASES!!!
Ten Man Match: Son of Havoc vs. Fenix vs. Prince Puma vs. Big Ryck vs. Super Fly vs. Mascarita Sagrada vs. King Cuerno vs. Drago vs. El Mariachi Loco vs. Pentagon, Jr. Winner: Fenix with the modified Tombstone Piledriver.
What a heated contested match this was! However, the match was not as long in time as I expected. Of course, in this match, the way you had to win was by either pin or submission, but since there was a large amount of participants, you would think the match would have lasted longer, right? Nah. Besides, from the get go, the action was fast paced, with awe-inspiring variations of common moves we see in wrestling. For instance, the Tower of Doom turned into a falling leg sweep tower of doom… it was a pretty cool move. We also saw Prince Puma hit a springboard 450 to the outside of the ring and land on his feet like a BOSS! But in the end, it was the up-and-coming Fenix who picked up the win with a nasty tombstone piledriver on Puma.
Needless to say, if you were to blink during this match, you would miss out on the rapid fire highlight reel.
Boyle Height Battle Royal! Winner: Mil Muertes (last eliminated Johnny Mundo)
Mil Muertes just continues to dominate! Since debuting on the November 5th episode of Lucha Underground against Blue Demon, Jr, he has been nearly unstoppable with his impressive power game and a beautiful, yet dangerous valet (who has a fetish for licking and apparently she and Mil Muertes are an item now), Catrina. Much like the ten man match before, very fast paced with some record eliminations, with rookies Famous B and Ricky Mantel not even lasting a full five minutes without getting blasted out of the ring. Poor rookies. Anyways, my pick for this match was Johnny Mundo, who’s been on a hot streak as late, capping it off with becoming $100,000 richer. However, you cannot forget how Lucha Underground is making it so Mil Muertes is the ultimate big guy, their resident giant (of some sorts), which in my opinion is a very good move. I mean, why build up a man Muertes’ size for dominance only to bring it to a halt?
Much like the ten man match, this one was a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” type match.
Dario Cueto’s Blockbuster Announcement!
So you have the winner of the two bouts tonight in Fenix and Mil Muertes, but what’s the reward for outlasting so many opponents? Out comes the ever swaggering Dario Cueto with a huge announcement! As promised at the beginning of the show, Dario was not going to reward the two winners with money-filled briefcases, but he has something even better… the Lucha Underground Championship! Now, for those of you that have been checking out the wrestling websites with articles about the taping news of Lucha Underground, the champion has already been crowned, but it will all unfold starting in January of 2015 in what Cueto bills as “Aztec Warfare”, which will comprise of the top stars of Lucha Underground (so yes, Sexy Star is can qualify for this tournament) competing in a tournament to crown the first ever Lucha Underground Champion. He then sets up an impromptu match of Mil Muertes vs. Fenix, where the winner will gain an advantage in “Aztec Warfare”!
Mil Muertes (w/ Catrina) vs. Fenix Winner: Mil Muertes with the flatliner.
With a shot at competing in Aztec Warfare, these two luchadors fought on despite competing in heated matches earlier in the night. On a side note, if Fenix were to defeat Mil Muertes, not only would he have a spot in the tournament, but he could be the first to defeat Mil Muertes since his debut. In the end, however, Mil Muertes would go on to pick up his second win of the night, and continue his undefeated streak and total dominance in Lucha Underground.
I am really growing to mark for both Mil Muertes and Fenix. Both utilize their strengths in their styles of wrestling. With Muertes’ unrelenting power and Fenix’s awe-inspiring ability, in my eyes, it’s like the best of both worlds.
Well, that’s it! Hope you guys enjoyed it, and I will be doing more in the near future. Follow me on Twitter @KiannaFury and be sure to check out all results here at diehardwrestling.blogspot.com! As I always say, more is to come!
Ring announcer Melissa Santos introduces the owner of Lucha Underground Dario Cueto, who announces two ten man matches, where the two winners will not receive a briefcase full of money this time, but something more special… The first ten competitors are already in the ring for the ten man match!
Ten Man Match: Fenix defeated Prince Puma, Big Ryck, El Mariachi Loco, Mascarita Sagrada, Drago, King Cuerno, Super Fly, Pentagon Jr, and Son of Havoc when he pinned Puma after a modified Tombstone Piledriver.
Konnan is outraged at Prince Puma for “missing an opportunity”. He says that many wrestlers kill to have a manager like him and warns him to not miss any opportunities next time.
Boyle Heights Battle Royal: Mil Muertes last eliminated Johnny Mundo to win the battle royal. -during this match, there was a mysterious woman in the audience (Angela Fong) who watched the match for a certain luchador(a)...
Mil Muertes and Fenix are the winners of their respective matches. What will Dario Cueto have in store for them?
Mil Muertes and Fenix are having a stand-off in the ring when Dario Cueto comes out. He says earlier tonight that he has a surprise for the two winners of the matches. What’s the surprise? The introduction of the Lucha Underground Heavyweight Championship, in which in his eyes, is the title that will make the wrestler the best in the world. He then announces that the winner of Mil Muertes vs. Fenix will have an advantage in becoming the first Lucha Underground Champion, in what he bills the “Aztec Warfare”, which will take place until January 2015, where the first champion will be crowned.
Mil Muertes defeated Fenix to enter “Aztec Warfare” at #20 to become the first ever Lucha Underground Champion. Fenix will enter at #1. After the match, he and Catrina stand over a betean Fenix and engage in a sloppy kiss fest.
Dario Cueto is backstage with the Lucha Underground title. The gold comes from the Aztec gold, making it not only priceless, but powerful. There is a person he does not want to see touch it, as he likes to "destroy pretty things..."
The show starts with a star-studded tribute to America's military.
Hulk Hogan shows up to start the show. After thanking America's miltary, The Miz and Damien Sandow show up, and Miz says "You're welcome," before going into a spiel about starring in TheMarine 3. This spiel ends when John Cena shows up, apologizes for The Miz's behavior, then says the American armed forces are the real deal compared to The Miz, who is "as metrosexual as Ryan Seacrest, except Seacrest would kick his butt." Miz fancies himself to Bob Hope on a USO tour, but Cena reminds him Hulk is in the ring with him. Miz chalks this up to Cena being jealous, but Cena makes it painfully clear that Miz just sucks. Miz tries to beat up Cena, but Cena knocks him out of the ring. When Sandow confronts Cena, he just does his stunt double duties. After this, J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble), Seth Rollins, Kane, Luke Harper and Big Show show up and surround Cena and Hogan. They fight them off as best they can until Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan show up. The good guys quickly stand tall and work as a team to toss Big Show out of the ring.

Dean Ambrose beats Bray Wyatt in a Boot Camp Match after Wyatt mouths off at Sgt. Slaughter, giving Slaughter half a mind to hand Ambrose a steel toe boot, allowing him to set up the elbow drop onto Wyatt through the table for the win.
Rusev and Lana show up. Rusev says he has crushed the best America has to offer as they continue their American-bashing. At one point, most of the American armed forces members stand up as they chant "USA." Lana goes on to say that America would be a true superpower if Russian President Vladimir Putin was their leader. All of a sudden, Daniel Bryan returns. He says that no matter what, Americans fight for what they believe in, and if Rusev doesn't like it, he can go back to Russia. Rusev challenges Daniel Bryan after this, and in response, D-Bry says Americans can come from anywhere, like over the wall or down from the sky. Four American soldiers show up, dropping down from the ceiling and jumping over the barricade, to surround the ring apron. Daniel Bryan enters the ring, and after some time, Rusev and Lana retreat, and Daniel Bryan and the soldiers start a "YES!" chant.
Florida-Georgia Line perform "Cruise."
John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan beat Seth Rollins, Kane, Big Show and Luke Harper.

Dean Ambrose shows up. He knows he lost at TLC, but knows he got to Bray Wyatt. After saying that the fight continues tomorrow night at Tribute to the Troops, Wyatt appears on the TitanTron.
