Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for July 13, 2015

Dario Cueto has the four remaining Aztec Medallions in his office, and he would like for Pentagon, Jr. to be a holder of one of the four. Pentagon says that he and his master do not care for the Aztec Medallions, he has one goal in mind - destroying Vampiro.

Bengala beats Delvar Daivari to win the fourth Aztec Medallion.

A rather distracted Vampiro leaves his commentary partner Matt Striker and heads for the ring to confront Pentagon, Jr., who's been on Vampiro's case for the past several weeks.

Vampiro is in the ring. He is tired of Pentagon's constant threats and wants to confront him tonight. He says that Pentagon remind him of himself when he first started in the wrestling business. Pentagon, Jr. interrupts. Pentagon still is looking for a fight with Vampiro at Ultima Lucha. Vampiro refuses once again, saying that his time is up in this business and that he loves his job as a commentator in Lucha Underground. In the end, Ian Hodgkinson says that the man that is going to kick Pentagon's ass is Vampiro, and he attacks the former hits his signature move, Vampiro's Bite.

Sexy Star is backstage lacing up. As she digs through her bag, she pulls out Super Fly's mask and faint memories of their Mask vs. Mask match from a couple of weeks ago are shown. She walks away, upset.

King Cuerno beats Kill Shot with the bow and arrow submission to win the fifth Aztec Medallion.

Sexy Star quickly beats Super Fly to win the sixth Aztec Medallion. Shortly afterwards, Marty "The Moth" Martinez comes to the ring and challenges Sexy Star to match... for her newly won medallion. She gladly accepts by attacking him to start the match.

Sexy Star beats Marty "The Moth" Martinez to keep the sixth Aztec Medallion.

Matt Striker and Vampiro hype Ultima Lucha, a two-hour event that will take place August 5th, 2015 on the El Rey Network!

Dario Cueto is in the ring. He hypes Prince Puma vs. Mil Muertes, billing as the "biggest match in Lucha Underground history". Since he is a busy man, he has called for a confrontation between the two.  He introduces the two men who will face each other for the Lucha Underground Championship at Ultima Lucha. Before the two can confront each other, Cueto steps in between them, only provoking them to fight. Catrina and the Disciples of Death (Barrio Negro, El Siniestro de la Muerte and Trece) come out with a casket in hand, and Mil Muertes gets a cheap shot in on Puma. Konnan comes in to try and even the score, but the numbers games are just too much. After the quintet lays Konnan and Puma out, Catrina orders the Disciples of Death to put Konnan in the casket, with Prince Puma being forced to watch. Konnan is carried away in the casket to end the show.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for July 1, 2015

Dario Cueto has Chavo Guerrero in his office. He praises him for "ending the legacy of Blue Demon". Cueto makes a deal with Chavo, since he gave him the remaining members of The Crew (Mr. Cisco & Cortez Castro)... and Chavo accomplished the mission of capturing Black Lotus. Chavo looks concerned about this, but Cueto awards him by giving him Prince Puma tonight. No Disqualification, you ask? Anything for Chavo...

Texano beats Delvar Daivari.

Prince Puma is training in the locker room, when Konnan gives Puma some words of encouragement, and to not to worry about Chavo. The latter has a long history with Chavo, and he is very familiar with his "lying, cheating and stealing" ways. Suddenly, the lights dim and Catrina appears, and says that Puma will need to afraid, since Mil Muertes will take his title. The number one contender shows up and has a deathly staredown with the champion before he and Catrina vanish.

Konnan is talking to someone in the locker room, and says that he will no longer be held down by Dario Cueto's obvious abuse of authority, and that Mexico shall finally take a stand...

Drago beats Hernandez via disqualification when the latter violently jacks a belt from a fan in the audience and uses it to choke out Drago. Afterwards, he grabs the mic and says that we all should know that dragons are not real.

As Chavo Guerrero is mentally preparing himself for his title match, the lights dim and Catrina appears once again to deliver her sultry speech of Mil Muertes becoming the Lucha Underground Champion at Ultima Lucha. Suddenly Mil Muertes appears and roars in rage.

Alberto El Patron quickly beats Marty "The Moth" Martinez with the cross armbreaker. Alberto grabs the mic and says that Johnny Mundo putting him through the window was the biggest mistake that Mundo could have made. He vows to take revenge for damaging the face that "his mother gave him" and rip his own face off, and says that Mundo's first mistake as his last.

Before the main event, ring announcer Melissa Santos states that if Konnan interferes in the title match, Chavo Guerrero will automatically become champion.

Prince Puma beats Chavo Guerrero to retain the Lucha Underground Championship, thanks to a surprise assist from Texano. After the match, Texano grabs the mic and says that Mexico is here and  that they are coming for Chavo!

Chavo Guerrero is in the locker room tending to his torn hamstring when Blue Demon Jr. shows up. Chavo insults Blue Demon, saying that people are cheering for Texano more than they are cheering for him. Blue Demon Jr. pins Chavo to the wall and insists he is Mexico and not Texano. After Blue Demon lets him go and leaves the room, Chavo smiles, as if this is all part of a plan.

Lucha Underground recap for June 10, 2015: "The Desolation of Drago"

The show begins with Drago standing atop of the Temple. He spreads his wings, then descends to the grounds...

In the temple, Dario Cueto is in the ring. He announces a Fatal Four Way #1 Contenders Match for Prince Puma's Lucha Underground Championship. The competitors? Hernandez. King Cuerno. Cage... and Fenix would have been the fourth, but he was destroyed in a Death Match with Mil Muertes. With that, he calls out one of the men who wrestled in Lucha Underground's first-ever match: Blue Demon, Jr., who comes out to a standing ovation. Dario says that to make sure that he doesn't have any ring rust, he sets up a match between Blue Demon and his arch-nemesis, Chavo Guerrero, Jr. (who is now accompanied by remaining members of The Crew, Mr. Cisco and Cortez Castro), and Dario says that "anything goes".

Chavo Guerrero, Jr. quickly beats Blue Demon, Jr. when The Crew (Mr. Cisco & Cortez Castro) aids him in hitting his signature Frog Splash.

Drago makes his glorious entrance into the temple.

The debuting Disciples of Death beats Bengala, Pimpinela Escalarta and Mascarita Sagrada.

Dario Cueto makes a deal with Drago: either win the #1 contender's match, or continue to be banished, but this time without his mask. He makes it a deal.

Johnny Mundo is in Dario Cueto's office, and he is pissed that he is not in the number one contender's match for the title. Dario says that if he wants to prove that he is the top wrestler in Lucha Underground, he signs him up for match against Prince Puma... All. Night. Long. The two shake on it and make it official.

Drago beats Cage, Hernandez and King Cuerno to become #1 contender for the Lucha Underground Championship, and he earns the right to keep his mask. Prince Puma steps into the ring and the champion and challenger have a stare down.

Meanwhile, Dario Cueto is peeking out the window when suddenly a finger taps him. When he sees no one, he continues to look out the window. He then turns around again to find Catrina sitting behind his desk. She is upset with the fact that Cueto did not put Mil Muertes in the number one contender's match tonight. When he doesn't give her a clear answer, she proceeds to nearly choking the life out of him, until he makes a deal to have Drago defend his number one contendership against Mil Muertes. Satisfied, she lets him go and disappears.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for June 3rd, 2015

In Dario Cueto's office, Chavo Guerrero sits across Dario Cueto's desk. Despite quitting Lucha Underground several months ago, Chavo tells Dario that Black Lotus is ready to kill him. To ensure his survival, he wants HER head on a silver platter. He then retrieves a large amount of money for his drawer to pay for protection. Chavo proposes the idea of giving Dario protection around the Mexican border. With that business being done, Dario is curious to find out what Chavo really wants...

Before Argenis vs. Jack Evans starts, Dario Cueto shows up and says that nobody cares about either of them, and that he is going to make the match interesting. How? By having the two fight for one of the six remaining Aztec Medallions.

Jack Evans smoothly counters Argenis' offense into an unique roll-up for the win and the second Aztec Medallion.

Daivari informs Big Ryck that Dario Cueto was gracious enough to give them a Trios title match tonight, but they need a third partner. Big Ryck volunteers his cousin, The Mack, who gladly obliges. Daivari, who is not fully convinced asks Mack why he is good for the team before Cage suddenly shows up. Cage does not see The Mack as a suitable team member and he attacks The Mack in front of Daivari and his OWN cousin Big Ryck and lays him. Daivari automatically welcomes him to the team.

Meanwhile, in the locker room, Chavo Guerrero informs Black Lotus that Dario Cueto is letting her make her in-ring debut on Lucha Underground. Black Lotus, who sees something icky with the situation, goes in on the attack on Chavo. She had the fight won, until Chavo unleashes the equalizer -- a baseball bat, which lays her out with just one strike. He then handcuffs her...

Thanks to the distraction by Texano, Angelico, Ivelisse and Son of Havoc retain the Lucha Underground Trios Tag Team Championships against Daivari, Big Ryck and Cage.

The Crew (Bael, Mr. Cisco and Cortez Castro) brings a tied Black Lotus into Dario Cueto's office. A pleased Dario Cueto has a spot for her --- in the cell across from his brother.

Before the main event, Pentagon, Jr. promises Sexy Star that he is going to break her and give her off as a sacrifice to his master, before she attacks him from behind to begin the match.

In the first Submission Match in Lucha Underground history, Pentagon, Jr. beats Sexy Star when an unmasked Super Fly returns and turn his back on Sexy Star and slaps her. Pentagon forces her to tapped with a different variation of the surfboard. As Pentagon, Jr. sets Sexy Star up for his signature armbreaker, Vampiro rushes the ring and pushes Pentagon off of Sexy. Before he makes another move, Vampiro changes his mind and leaves the ring. Backstage, past thoughts and troubles rushes through Vampiro's head as he repeatedly smashes his head into the mirror. Old Vampiro is back...

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for May 6, 2015

Johnny Mundo and Alberto El Patron are in Dario Cueto's office. They both feel that they deserve a shot at Prince Puma's Lucha Underground Championship. El Patron goes as far as to say that he deserves a shot more than the actual number one contender, Hernandez, who sleazed his way into changing the standard triple threat match into a #1 contender's match last week. With this, Dario Cueto holds up slips of paper with both their names on them, setting up the main event match for tonight, in which the winner will face Hernandez next week to determine the true number one contender for the Lucha Underground Championship.

Ivelisse, who is on crutches due to a leg injury, sits in the audience and torts out orders to her partners.

The Crew (Cortez Castro & Mr. Cisco) beats Son of Havoc & Angelico.

Dario Cueto now has DelAvar Daivari, the man who took out Texano a couple of weeks ago. Cueto acknowledges him for his bravery, and sets up a match between the latter and Texano tonight. Meanwhile, in the locker room, Konnan blasts Hernandez for what he did in Prince Puma's title match against Drago last week. Hernandez felt that he saved his title match, but Puma isn't trying to hear any of it. Dario Cueto overhears the fuss, pleased with what he hears, and sets up Hernandez and Puma to tag against Cage and King Cuerno later tonight.

DelAvar Daivari beats Texano by disqualification with Texano pushes the referee to get to Daivari. The two brawl in the ring afterwards.

Cage and King Cuerno beats Prince Puma and Hernandez after Hernandez powerbombs Prince Puma on the turnbuckle and takes a walk out of the match, leaving Puma to fend for himself.

Black Lotus is still determined to leave and fend for herself, but El Dragon Azteca refuses to see her suffer the same fate as her parents. He then give her the ultimatum - if she beats him, she can leave. After a short series of blocks from both sides, Dragon Azteca gains the upper hand, and says that she has a better chance of survival than her parents if she stays with him. Reluctantly enough, she blows out her candle and stays.

Alberto El Patron beats Johnny Mundo in a fast-paced, chaotic match to earn the right to face Hernandez to determine the true number one contender to Prince Puma's Lucha Underground Championship!

Catrina sends a cryptic message about the afterlife. She is standing in front of a casket, which revealed to has the deceased Mil Muertes inside. She orders Ricky Banderas to come back alive as Mil Muertes, and just like the famous Frankenstein scene, he comes back to life.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for April 29, 2015

Dario Cueto is highly disappointed in his goon squad, The Crew (Bael, Mr. Cisco, Cortez Castro) for not getting the job done in their impromptu Trios Tag Team Title match last week, but in typical "El Jefe" style, he has a surprise for the boys, and leads them out of the room into another. In this room stands Dario Cueto's brother, but by telling by the looks on The Crew's faces, he may not be whom they expected it to be. Unfortunately, we only get a silhouette of Cueto's brother, to be revealed later.

Fenix beats Killshot in short, but impressive match.

Dario Cueto finds Drago backstage. He says that despite Drago being torn about the stipulation in his Lucha Underground Title match against Prince Puma, the stipulation will still stand, but he feels that Drago is willing to do anything to win the title tonight.

Prince Puma is in the locker room taping up for his match. Dario Cueto shows up and suggests that Puma is not willing to end a man's career, but true warriors only think about victory. As Cueto walks away, Hernandez walks up on him and talks about his triple threat match tonight, stating that he wants a shot at Puma's Lucha Underground title. What he doesn't know is that Puma is listening from the other side of the locker room. Knowing that Puma is there, however, Cueto stirs up trouble once again by making the triple threat match a number one contender's match.

Famous B vs. Vinny Massaro vs. El Mariachi Loco vs. Ricky Mandel ends when Texano comes in and cleans house (even giving the referee the run for his money). In Espanol, Texano says that he doesn't care who the hell that guy was that attacked him, but says that if he wants to fight him one-on-one, he'll give him the fight of his life.

Outside the temple, Dario Cueto's phone call is interrupted by a crazy fan who has been camping out at the temple for week. He reveals his name to be Marty the Moth and he wants to meet Prince Puma, and possibly step foot in the ring. Dario says that the temple is not open to everybody, and doesn't want him to step foot into the ring either. Cueto proceeds back into the temple, and has to end his phone call just to get away from this crazy fan.

Hernandez beats Cage and King Cuerno to become number one contender for the Lucha Underground Champiionship after Marty the Moth finds his way into the temple and distracts Cage.

Vampiro interviews the first-ever LU Trios Tag Team Champions Son of Havoc, Ivelisse and Angelico. When it seemed that the three were on the same page, Ivelisse begins to take credit for being the "team captain" and they begin to argue. Vampiro cuts them off momentarily to ask about what they are willing to do as champions. With this they begin to argue once again.

Prince Puma retains the Lucha Underground Championship against Drago with the twisting packaged piledriver after Hernandez attacks Drago. Per stipulation, Drago is banished from the temple..

Drago meets Dario Cueto outside the temple after his match. He torts to Cueto in Spanish before walking out of the temple. Emotionless, Cueto turns to fire blowing in the sky to end the show.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for April 8, 2015

Dario Cueto has Konnan and his protégé, Lucha Underground Champion Prince Puma is in his office. He sets up Trios match for the Trios Tag Team title tournament, but assigns Puma and Konnan to find two partners for the bout.

Despite Ivelisse bailing from the match, Son of Havoc, Angelico and Ivelisse beats Drago, Aerostar and Fenix to advance in the tournament to crown the first-ever Lucha Underground Trios Tag Team Champions!

Prince Puma will defend the Lucha Underground Championship against King Cuerno in tonight’s main event!

While Prince Puma is training in the back, Konnan lets him know that he’s found the perfect partner. Who? None other than Shawn Hernandez. With this, Konnan plans to orchestrate an unstoppable force in Lucha Underground. Suddenly, Johnny Mundo comes out of the wood works and accepts the invitation of being the third man of the trio. Konnan is enraged, and he still does not trust Mundo, and says that Puma shouldn’t either.

Sexy Star is scheduled to face Super Fly tonight. Dario Cueto acknowledges Sexy Star for saving Super fly from getting his arm broke by Pentagon, Jr., but Cueto wants no mercy. “El Jefe” takes the match up a notch by setting up the first Mask vs. Mask match in Lucha Underground history.

Sexy Star beats Super Fly in a Mask vs. Mask match. After the match, the two opponents talk it out in the ring, as Super Fly has to give up his mask per stipulation.

Super Fly and Sexy Star are still in the ring. Sexy Star is reluctant to remove the mask of Super Fly. Finally, she removes the mask and the two hug and shake hands as he approves. Out of nowhere, Pentagon, Jr pushes Sexy Star off the ring apron and attacks the unmasked Super Fly, destroying him with the packaged piledriver. Sexy Star runs back in for the save as Pentagon flees.

Before the match, Prince Puma brings out his backup: Johnny Mundo and Shawn Hernandez. Shockingly, King Cuerno brings out backup of his own as well: Texano and Cage!

Prince Puma beats King Cuerno with the 630 Splash to retain the Lucha Underground Championship. Shawn Hernandez walks in the ring to hand him the title, but Puma takes offense to this, and the two began arguing. Cage cuts this off quickly, attacking Puma from behind. Luchadors from the opposite teams began to brawl in the ring, as both teams head into their LU Trios Tag Team Championship Tournament match next week.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground Recap for February 25, 2015

Aerostar defeated Drago. Aerostar and Drago shake and raise hands showing a sign of respect. "El Jefe" Dario Cueto comes out and sees that the two get along so well, but we wants to see more out of them. He then set up a Best of Five Series (in which two matches are already in the books, so it's 1-1) and says that the winner will get one of his "famous opportunities".

King Cuerno will face Johnny Mundo one-on-one for the first time tonight!

Cage defeated Lucha Underground Champion Prince Puma to become number one contender for the title when Puma's manager, Konnan throws in the towel!

Konnan is backstage with Prince Puma, and he reassures him to stick to their plan. Sexy Star is in Cueto's office, and she is tired of men jumping in her matches to save her and how her friends got sent to the hospital last week. Cueto proposes the idea of giving her a match with Big Ryck, but Sexy Star does not accept, but Cueto assures her that he and The Crew (Bael, Cisco and Cortez Castro) have something in store for Big Ryck...

Vinny Massaro vs. Pentagon Jr. is next. Before the match, Pentagon tells ring announcer Melissa Santos that he dedicates this match to his "master".

Pentagon, Jr. quickly defeats Vinny Massaro. After the match, Pentagon sunset flip powerbombs Vinny from the top rope through a table! Pentagon then snaps Vinny arm, and then kisses the mat as a sign of sacrifice to his "master."

King Cuerno vs. Johnny Mundo ends in a draw due to a double count-out. Despite this, the two men kept brawling throughout the temple to end the show.

Outside of the temple, a mysterious black car drives through the lot. When the car stops, someone opens the trunk to the mysterious woman who has been searching for "Matanza". The person is revealed to be Blue Demon, Jr., who wants to question her about her knowings of "Matanza".

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground Recap + Review for February 4, 2015

Mariachi El Bronx peforms to start the show.

Son of Havoc and Ivelisse are in the ring. Ivelisse grabs the mic and says that she is tired of fans saying that Son of Havoc sucks on Twitter. She says that she doesn't date losers, and if anyone has a problem with him then they have a problem with "the baddest bitch in the building"!

Angelico defeated Son of Havoc with a surprise roll-up.

Dario Cueto welcomes back a figure to Lucha Underground, who is revealed to be Johnny Mundo. Cueto can tell that Mundo's ready for action. Mundo is looking to be the champion, but there has to be a new belt...

Pentagon, Jr. es ciero miedo.... 

Pentagon, Jr. qucikly defeated Famous B via Submission. After the match, he grabs the mic and says that he gives his loyalty to his master and that he has zero fear!

Dario Cueto is backstage with a key around his neck, who seemingly knows something about "Matanza".

Drago defeated Aerostar. The two men shake hands after he match.

Johnny Mundo takes on Cage for the first time ever tonight!

Fenix is training with the punching bag. Catrina sneaks up on him from behind, which cause Denix to turn around in shock. She asks him about his tattoo, and ponders about what would make a man scared if he wasn't dead. She then kisses him, and warns him to keep it between them, because if he (Mil Muertes) finds out, then they'll both be buried alive.

Cage vs. Johnny Mundo ended when King Cuerno interferes and attacks Mundo. Cuerno continues to go in for the attack, he hits Mundo in his knee. Cage leaves whe Dario Cueto comes out and restarts the match.

Cage defeated Johnny Mundo after the restart of the match with a variation of the Gory Bomb.

Backstage, Dario Cueto welcomes a new luchador to Lucha Underground, who is none another than Alberto El Patron!

Review

Sup, everyone and welcome to the February 4th, 2015 edition of the Lucha Underground review! As always, Lucha Underground continues to deliver and they continue to get better with each passing episode. Tonight's main topics I'm going to be covering are: Cuerno targeting Mundo, continued "Conquest for Matanza", Catrina's motivations, and the arrival. This hsoule be a relatively short one, but I'll make the best of it. Without further ado, let's get started!

Cuerno Targeting Mundo!

Tonight during the main event of Cage vs. Johnny Mundo, King Cuerno was watching the match from the rafters of the Lucha Underground Temple. Why? Well, we will find out nearing what seemed to be the end of the match, but Cuerno sets his target on Mundo, attacking him ruthlessly with a chair, injuring his knee in the process. This not only shows that Cuerno is on the hunt more than ever, but he may have a bone to pick with Mundo. Whatever the case, this was an interesting scenario, and now I want to see Mundo's reaction to the attack.

Continued "Conquest for Matanza"

Last week, the mysterious lady appeared in Cueto's office looking for Matanza. However, it seems that Cueto is on the hunt for Matanza. I have many scenarios for how this Matanza mystery will pan out. One: the mysterious lady is posing a trap. Two: "Matanza" may be someone on the roster. Three: Dario Cueto may know about Matanza. To sum it all up, the possibilities are endless...

Catrina's Motivation

As Fenix was training with the punching bag, Catrina appears out of nowhere and seduces him with her beauty and sadistic desires. She shares a kiss with him, but tells him not to tell anyone about it. So, my thing about this is what is the story behind Catrina kissing him? I think that this is all a set up, because of Fenix defeating her main squeeze, Mil Muertes last week. However, maybe there is something that Catrina feels about Fenix, and she may use her seduction tactics to take him under her wing.

Arrival of Alberto El Patron!

He's heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere! Finally. Alberto El Patron makes his Lucha Underground debut, but where does he go from here? Now, lets not make the assumption that Alberto's going to be the huge star of Lucha Underground. Is he a viable candidate? Yes! Should he be pushed into it? No! To be honest, having someone in the caliber of Alberto El Patron can only make things better for the company, especially since Alberto is already familiar to American wrestling fans (WWE, anybody?). Also, Luch Underground has helped Alberto a great deal behind the scenes with problems with his former employer, WWE so what better to pay back for all the help? I am very excited to see Alberto El Patron in a company that is clearly his comfort zone. and I know he is looking to tear the house down!

Underground Sound: Lucha Underground Recap + Review for January 28, 2015

The show starts with Cage pumping up weights in the back area. Dario Cueto shows up during his training session and wishes him luck against Prince Puma. Cage says that he will win it... because he's a machine.

Fenix defeated Mil Muertes with a surprise roll-up, handing Mil Muertes he second pinfall loss since debuting in Lucha Underground.

Cage will take on Prince Puma later tonight!

Bael, Cisco and Cortez Castro defeated Aerostar, Superfly, and Argenis in six man tag team action!

It's time for the Ringside View with color commentator Vampiro, who is with Prince Puma and , Konnan. He asks Prince Puma how he feels after the blindside attack from Cage last week. Konnan interrupts, saying the Puma is pissed. He believes that Puma is going to put Cage in the hospital. Vampiro gets tired of Konnan intervening for Puma and stealing Prince Puma's shine. Konnan does not take a liking to this, and says that if Vampiro gets in his business again, he's gonna get some, too which provoked Vampiro and Konnan to go face-to-face.

Prince Puma vs. Cage for the Lucha Underground Championship ends when Cage pushes the referee. After the match, Cage destroys Puma. Konnan comes in and hits Cage with his cane, but wounds up getting demolished, too (and has a busted skull... blood everywhere!).

Dario Cueto is peaking at the main event from his office when the mysterious chick that has been sitting in the audience for the past couple of weeks appears out of nowhere. Cueto has no idea who she is, but she is looking for a man... who goes by "Matanza". Cueto, who is confused about her motives, still does not know who she is talking about, and she disappears quickly from the office.

Sup, everyone and welcome to the January 28, 2015 edition of the Lucha Underground Recap! Tonight's was very refreshing, since all that crazy riff raft with WWE earlier this week, it was a pleasure to just sit back and enjoy an hour of great wrestling and storytelling. Tonight's topics I'll be covering are: Cage's destruction, feud re-ignition(?), and the Conquest for "Matanza". Without further ado, lets get started.

Cage's Destruction!

Man, in just three weeks of being in Lucha Underground, Cage has proved himself to be one of the most dominant forces in the company. Just think about it: won an impressive debut in a Fatal Four-Way match, blindsided Puma after his first title defense against Fenix, and now tonight he challenged the champ for his title. However, if you paid attention to the match, you could tell that it was not Cage's intentions to win the title... but to destroy Puma. Of course, being the top dog in a company, you're going to have a tremendous target on your back, but Puma's been the main target long before he even won the Lucha Underground title - which means that Cueto's looking to do anything in his power to rid himself of Puma (and any other Luchador(a)s that he chooses as well). Lets not forget about that brutal attack the Konnan as well. Earlier tonight, Konnan said in an heated interview with Vampiro that Cage was gonna wound up in the hospital. Ain't it funny how things turn around? Now, HE'S the one who is being sent to the hospital!

Feud Re-Ignition?

With the ending of "Cage's Destruction" bring me to my next topic for tonight's show. I looked up Vampiro's career and found out that he and Konnan actually had a real-life feud back in 2005, when the two were big wrestling stars in Mexico. Apparently, Konnan did not like how Vampiro came and "took his spotlight" and how he was granted a part in a Mexican novela (soap opera). Vampiro did not receive the part, due to his lack of fluency in Spanish. To be honest, I think it is cool how things are coming full circle after ten years. I personally would like to see these two go at it, but after all the things that their bodies have endured over the years (both have nearly 30 years of experience), I do not think that an actual physical will take place, unfortunately. But, that doesn't mean that we can't see a face-to-face confrontation, right?

The "Conquest for Matanza"

The word Matanza means "slaughtering" or "killing", so when Angela Fong (the mysterious chick who's been checking out numerous matches in the audience for a few weeks) mentioned this "Matanza" to Dario Cueto, of course he was going to say "I don't know." I feel that there is someone behind this, and we will only get more clues in the coming weeks. Also, I wonder what Angela Fong's roles will be in Lucha Underground. Will she be in action? Will she be a valet? Whatever the case, I'm excited to see her on TV again. Back to Matanza, she described him as a man, which was the only description that she gave, which means that the Matanza can be any Luchador (or Luchadora) on the roster! We do not know who she's talking about, but let me tell ya, I'm cooking up a few suspects right now.

Underground Sound - Lucha Underground Recap for January 21, 2015

Cisco & (Mr.) Cortez Castro defeated Pimpinela Escalarta & Mascarita Sagrada. During the match, Big Ryck watched the match from the steps.

After the match, Big Ryck grabs the mic says that no matter the friends or the enemies, that he will make it to the top. Los Demonios (Cisco, Bael, and Cortez Castro) did not take this too well, and they dropped the bomb by attacking Big Ryck. Castro capitalized on the attack by smashing Big Ryck with a kendo stick. The trio left the temple an headed straight for Dario Cueto's office.

Dario Cueto is amazed by the scheme work of Los Demonios (Bael, Cortez Castro, and Cisco) and hands each of them a chunk of money and Dario says that he has much more plans for taking out Big Ryck, and the trio replies with a resounding, "Yes, sir."

Color commentator Vampiro interviews Cage. Cage says that he is not here to make friends, but to be the best. Vampiro points out the attack that Cage did on Lucha Underground Champion Prince Puma, and wonders if Cage is willing to take on Puma one-on-one for the title. Cage dismisses the wonder and says that when you're in the ring with him, you're in the ring with a machine. Vampiro then calls him a future Lucha Underground Champion. Future champ, indeed,

Pentagon, Jr. defeated Super Fly with the packaged piledriver. After the match, Pentagon grabs the mic and says that he thought of Chavo Guerrero as a legend and criticizes him for betraying his at Aztec Warefare, but that he will get his revenge ans that he has... NO FEAR!

Sexy Star defeated El Mariachi Loco with the small package.

King Cuerno defeated Drago in a Last Luchador Standing Match when Drago cannot beat the ten down, due to being tied down to the ringpost by Cuerno.

REVIEW!!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the January 21st, 2015 edition of my Lucha Underground Review. Main topics of the show I'm going to be touching on tonight is: Cage's future, Pentagon's ascension, the ultimate betrayal and the end of a saga... or is it? Without further ado, lets get down to it! 

Cage's Future!

Cage appeared on a segment with color commentator Vampiro interviewing him. Since Cage has attacked Prince Puma from behind after his first title defense against Fenix last week, Cage looks to put himself in the title picture... quickly. However, he's only had one match - which was rather impressive, but I do not think that this push should be too quick. I feel that he should continue to dominate in matches and work his way up the food chain, and maybe building up a feud with Prince Puma along the way. Ya see, I'm a fan that likes a build-up, a chronological order of what happens in a storyline before it leads up to the grand finale. In this case, I definitely see Cage being promoted as this destructive machine, but lets not put him in the title picture just yet. Give him some time to get a reaction from the fans, and most definitely give more ring time. These two things can only hep him for his futur in Lucha Underground.

Pentagon's Ascension!

NO FEAR! After being stabbed in the back by Chavo Guerrero with a steel chair, Pentagon, Jr. now realizes that if he wants to get to the top, then he's gonna have to do it alone. I am very high on this guy right now, and for many reasons. He has tremendous in-ring ability, charisma that matches up with his dark and badass persona, and all Spanish aside, this guy has great mic skills. His match against Super Fly tonight was nothing short of impressive, with his mixture of luche libre with the hard-hitting Puroresu style, and on a side not: THOSE CHOPS WERE INSANE. Man, this guy truly has it all in my book, and I would not mind seeing him taking on Chavo Guerrero one-on-one. Hell, he may very well be a top contender for the Lucha Underground Championship. Can't wait to see how far he can go Lucha Underground.

The Ultimate Betrayal!

In the beginning of the show, Los Demonios, which consists of Bael, Cortez Castro and Cisco betray their now-former stablemate Big Ryck by attacking him in the middle of the ring and then headed for Dario Cueto's office, and then Cueto awards the trio with chunks of money. What does Cueto have up his sleeve now? What is the motive behind this attack? What does he have against Big Ryck? Is this just the beginning of a big change to come for Lucha Underground?  So many questions, but very little answers about this new story. Either way, I'm ready to see what Big Ryck has to say about this next week, that's IF he comes back next week...

The End of a Saga... or is it?

Tonight's main event was a Last Luchador Standing Match between arch rivals Drago and King Cuerno. This match was the same in greatness if not better than there encounter last week, which led to a no contest. I am a mark for both of these men, because of the in-ring psychology between the two. You guys may not see it, but I sure do! I mean, how can two guys pull off back-to-back great matches without one knowing what the other's going to do, Cuerno's craftiness gotten the better of Drago tonight, when Drago was tied down to the ringpost, which prevented him from standing. I feel that this rivalry isn't over, and that it is going to continue, especially after the way the main event ended tonight. Oh, for sure, Drago's going to avenge this defeat.

Underground Sound: Lucha Underground Recap for December 17th, 2014

Ring announcer Melissa Santos introduces the owner of Lucha Underground Dario Cueto, who announces two ten man matches, where the two winners will not receive a briefcase full of money this time, but something more special… The first ten competitors are already in the ring for the ten man match!

Ten Man Match:
Fenix defeated Prince Puma, Big Ryck, El Mariachi Loco, Mascarita Sagrada, Drago, King Cuerno, Super Fly, Pentagon Jr, and Son of Havoc when he pinned Puma after a modified Tombstone Piledriver.

Konnan is outraged at Prince Puma for “missing an opportunity”. He says that many wrestlers kill to have a manager like him and warns him to not miss any opportunities next time.

Boyle Heights Battle Royal:
Mil Muertes last eliminated Johnny Mundo to win the battle royal. -during this match, there was a mysterious woman in the audience (Angela Fong) who watched the match for a certain luchador(a)...

Mil Muertes and Fenix are the winners of their respective matches. What will Dario Cueto have in store for them?

Mil Muertes and Fenix are having a stand-off in the ring when Dario Cueto comes out. He says earlier tonight that he has a surprise for the two winners of the matches. What’s the surprise? The introduction of the Lucha Underground Heavyweight Championship, in which in his eyes, is the title that will make the wrestler the best in the world. He then announces that the winner of Mil Muertes vs. Fenix will have an advantage in becoming the first Lucha Underground Champion, in what he bills the “Aztec Warfare”, which will take place until January 2015, where the first champion will be crowned.

Mil Muertes defeated Fenix to enter “Aztec Warfare” at #20 to become the first ever Lucha Underground Champion. Fenix will enter at #1.  After the match, he and Catrina stand over a betean Fenix and engage in a sloppy kiss fest.

Dario Cueto is backstage with the Lucha Underground title. The gold comes from the Aztec gold, making it not only priceless, but powerful. There is a person he does not want to see touch it, as he likes to "destroy pretty things..."

Underground Sound: Lucha Underground Results for December 3rd, 2014

Big Ryck and Dario Cueto chat in Cueto’s office. Cueto says that he only brought Johnny Mundo into Lucha Underground to make an example out of him and says that with his henchmen by his side, no one is safe…

Ivelisse and her alleged beau, Son of Havoc come to the ring. Ivelisse praises Son of Havoc for celebrating her as a woman and wants him signed to a long term deal with Lucha Underground. Son of Havoc grabs the mic and challenges anybody in the back to a match. His opponent? The glamorous and flamboyant Pimpinela Escalarata!

Pimpinela Escalarata defeated Son of Havoc followed by the distraction from Mascarita Sagrada chasing Ivelisse around the ring.

Dario Cueto is pacing backstage until he suddenly rammed and choked against the wall by Johnny Mundo. With very bad intentions, he lets Cueto go (for now), and says that he may need “insurance.”

Mil Muertes quickly defeats Famous B with the flatliner. After the match, Mil Muertes holds up
Famous B, only for B to receive the “Lick of Death” from Catrina.

Drago looks to slay King Cuerno tonight!

King Cuerno defeats Drago in a rematch with his finsher, now known as “The Thrill of the Hunt”, yelling “”The hunting has just begun!” over a beaten Drago.

Johnny Mundo is in the ring and is still looking from a payoff from Dario Cueto. Instead of receiving Cueto, he gets Big Ryck, who threatens to put him through another table… before Mundo dives on Big Ryck. Konnan appears from the top of the rafters and warns Mundo that Prince Puma will no longer have his back. Puma comes out of nowhere and hits the missile dropkick on Big Ryck, followed by a double dropkick by Mundo and Puma. Suddenly, Puma and Mundo go at it, and both are separated by security. Dario Cueto interrupts and sets up a three way ladder match for the $100,000 briefcase: Mundo vs. Puma vs. Big Ryck next week!

Sexy Star & Fenix defeats Chavo Guerrero & Pentagon, Jr. in the main event to end the show.

Dario Cueto and Konnan are in Cueto’s office. Konnan vents his anger towards his protégé Prince Puma being attacked last week.

Mil Muertes beats Drago with the Flatline. During the match, King Cuerno watches the match over the plains of the Lucha Underground Temple. After the match, King Cuerno comes down from the balcony and lays out Drago.

Dario Cueto interrupts Katrina and Mil Muertes (who are seemingly an item now?), but Katrina’s having none of that.

Mascarita Sagrada beats Son of Havoc with a surprise roll-up.

Prince Puma will face Big Ryck in a Boyle Heights Street Fight in the main event!

Sexy Star vs. Chavo Guerrero ends when Sexy Star strikes the referee with a chair. Pentagon, Jr comes out an abruptly takes the chair from Sexy Star and sides with Chavo. As the duo begin the double team her, Fenix comes to her aid and the opposition flee from the ring.

Boyle Heights Street Fight: Big Ryck beats Prince Puma with the chokeslam through the table. During the match, not only did Big Ryck get help from Cisco and Cortez Castro, but Johnny Mundo jumps into the ring off the top of the balcony like Spiderman in attempts to help Puma, which costs Puma the match.

Underground Sound: Lucha Underground Results for November 19th, 2014

A recap of what has transpired over the past several weeks involving Johnny Mundo, Prince Puma, Konnan, and Dario Cueto and Los Demonios is shown.

Sexy Star, who is already in the ring for a match, looks to get revenge against Chavo Guerrero for he has done to her, Blue Demon, and Mascarita Sagrada over the past several weeks and vows to destroy the Guerrero dynasty. Her opponent, Ivelisse, comes out and taunts Sexy Star, saying that she cannot get down with the boys and that she is the “baddest luchadora (and bitch) in the building.

Sexy Star defeated Ivelisse with a surprise roll-up.

Dario Cueto has a talk with Drago, and he seemingly has something up his sleeve…

Pentagon, Jr. is in the ring. He says that he was disrespected in Mexico and he thanks Mr. Cueto for finally giving him the respect he deserves. He looks to decimate anyone who gets in his way and that everyone will respect him.

Fenix defeated Pentagon, Jr. with a STO Moonsault off the top rope.

King Cuerno will be on the hunt tonight!

Drago defeated King Cuerno in Cuerno's debut match.

Konnan warns his protégé Prince Puma that Johnny Mundo’s fight is not his and tells him to stay out of Johnny Mundo’s business.

During the  main event of Mundo vs. Big Ryck match, Cisco and Cortez Castro attack Prince Puma backstage.

Johnny Mundo defeated Big Ryck via disqualification when Cisco and Cortez interfere on Big Ryck’s behalf. After decimating Mundo, Big Ryck capitalizes by slamming Mundo through a table.

Lucha Underground Results for November 12th, 2014: Crossing The Border

We start the show with a recap from last week’s episode, including the aftermath of the main event of Blue Demon, Jr. vs. Mil Muertes, in which Chavo brutally attacks Blue Demon.
Konnan has a talk with Lucha Underground owner Dario Cueto. Both men look to bring in some of the best young fighters from Mexico.

Color commentators Matt Striker and Vampiro stated that Blue Demon, Jr. is in stable condition and they wish him a speedy recovery!

Dario Cueto comes out to the ring and confronts the criticism of there not being enough Lucha Libre in Lucha Underground. He then introduces El Mariachi Loco, who is seemingly his example of proving that there is “Lucha Libre in Lucha Underground.”  His opponent? Veteran Mini wrestler of Mexico’s AAA (Asistencia Asesoría y Administración) Mascarita Sagrada!

Mascarita Sagrada defeated El Mariachi Loco with a roll-up. After the match, Mascarita Sagrada is attacked by Chavo Guerrero, Jr.

We look at Chavo Guerrero’s unexplained path of destruction that took place last week.

Vampiro interviews Chavo Guerrero. Chavo says that he’s done it his family’s way out of respect, but now, he’s doing things HIS WAY. He claims that Blue Demon is living off of his dad’s legacy since his dad gave him that mask that he wears today. He looks to dominate Lucha Underground and become a star, and leaving anyone in their way if they dare to get in his way.

Chavo Guerrero runs into Konnan and talk about things that are going down in the future. After his convo with Konnan, he locks eyes with Mil Muertes, who slowly walks away, then he bumps into Mil Muertes’ associate, Catrina who looks to have both Chavo and Mil Muertes in her possession, as she licks Chavo.

The background of Mil Muertes’ life is shown. After his family died in a magnitude 8.1 Earthquake, he knew from that point on, he will always be on the brink of death.

Mil Muertes makes quick work of the debuting Ricky Mantel. After the match, Mantel is licked by Catrina, and then she kisses Mil Muertes’.

Cisco and Cortez Castro are hanging out backstage and they are met by Johnny Mundo, who beats up both of them and meets Dario Cueto, says that he wants to work with him and suggests that he give him a match next week to prove that he can give the violence.

Dario Cueto pays Big Ryck big bucks and wants to make sure that everything goes as planned next week with Johnny Mundo…

Triple Threat Match: Fenix defeated Drago and Pentagon, Jr. 

The show ends with Dario Cueto pacing back and forth in deep thought. Apparently, he’s got something in store for next week…

Lucha Underground Results for October 29th, 2014:Welcome To The Temple!

We start the show with a brief background of how Lucha Underground came about, with the owner and promoter of Lucha Underground, Dario Cueto making an excursion from Mexico to America, much to the dismal of the fans. He chugs around this suitcase of $100,000… CASH! After this background is shown, we move on to the show.

With my investigations, the scene is pretty cool! There is a band performing on the stage of the arena and the audience is pretty into it.

Melissa Santos is the ring announcer who welcomes Dario Cueto to the ring as he welcome everyone to “his temple”. The briefcase with $100,000 makes an appearance as well, and Dario will award the briefcase to the wrestler who impresses him the most.

Blue Demon, Jr. defeated Chavo Guerrero, Jr. via Submission, setting the standard in order for him to win the $100,000.

A segment between company owner Dario Cueto and Konnan is shown. Konnan is looking to make a deal with the owner by bringing in what he considers to be “the best wrestler in the world”. Cueto seemingly accepts this, but only under one condition: this wrestler had better respect his temple.

Back from commercial break, Johnny Mundo is seemingly stretching for a match.

Taking place in what looks to be a training facility, Konnan, the three-decade veteran, is promoting his newest protégé Prince Puma. Konnan already labels Puma as a Lucha Libre legend, declaring this because it is in his blood. 

Inter-Gender Match: Sexy Star vs. Son of Havoc next!

A promo by Sexy Star is shown. She cuts an female-empowerment style promo, and looks to prove that women are sexy and can kick ass just as good as the men.

Son of Havoc, who is apparently not intent on wrestling Sexy Star disses her and warns her to leave the match whole she can.

Inter Gender Match: Son of Havoc defeated Sexy Starr. He’s gotten a lot of heat during this match.

Chavo Guerrero, Jr., who is obviously upset about his loss to Blue Demon, Jr. in the opening match, sits in distain. Dario Cueto shows up and warns him about this, and says that if he can’t get the job done, then he will have to find some other lucha who will.

Johnny Mundo defeated Prince Puma with The End of the World (formerly Starship Pain) in Lucha Underground’s first live main event. As Mundo and Puma raise hands in respect, Dario Cueto comes to the ring to present the $100,000 grand prize, reluctantly. As Mundo and Cueto struggle with the briefcase, two strange guys mob Mundo and Dario retreats with the case. Big Ryck comes and decimates Puma before delivering the same fate to Johnny Mundo. Dario Cueto then marks himself as the devious owner of the company and welcomes everyone to Lucha Undergroudn to end the show.
