WWE Friday Night Smackdown Results for July 5th, 2013-Turning Points....

The July 5th Edition of Smackdown includes an rare Smackdown appearance from the "Second City Saint" C.M. Punk, Christian vs Randy Orton, Boosted momentum for The Usos, and more!

The Usos def Team Rhodes Scholars
I'm really happy for the momentum that The Usos are gaining. They are the only tag team in WWE who are worthy of a tag team title reign. I have Faith in the Usos, do you?

They continued their momentum by defeating Team Rhodes Scholars, followed by a promo by the great "Hounds of Justice" known as The Shield.

Alicia Fox def Kaitlyn
This is a rematch from RAW, which saw Alicia pick up her first win in sometime in WWE due to A.J. interfering to get inside the head of Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn would then go after A.J., but she would hurriedly run off with Big E., saying "That's not running! Lift your knees!"

Randy Orton def Christian
In the past 2 or so years, Orton and Christian had some very ultra-competitive matches for the World Heavyweight Championship during Christian's time as a heel.

They would do it all again last night, but Randy would come out on top in this one which is seeming to be the top match of the night.

Dolph Ziggler def Drew McIntyre (w/ Jinder Mahal & Heath Slater)
This match was actually entertaining, despite the fact that Dolph doesn't really need to face any of them. He continued his momentum from defeating Jinder on RAW, by defeating McIntyre last night. If he faced those two, then he's obviously gonna face Slater on RAW next week.

After the match, Dolph would then just play around with them, which shows effectively why he shows off, backs it up, and steals the show every time he's in the squared circle.
Fandango (w/ Summer Rae) def Justin Gabriel
This was Fandango's second match since his return due to an concussion (which the first was against Sheamus on RAW). He defeated Justin Gabriel in a short match, via Top-Rope Legdrop.
C.M. Punk vs World Champion Alberto Del Rio ended in a No-Contest (w/ Paul Heyman on commentary)
There has been a lot of tension as of late between long time friends and clients C.M. Punk and Paul Heyman. It all started when Punk was attacked by Brock Lesnar after his match against Alberto Del Rio. Punk then points the finger at Paul, as if he had something to do with it.

Add Del Rio to the mix, and that equals just another obstacle that Punk has jump over. The match was a good one, showing that the two can sell very well until Heyman jumped into it, only to get attacked by Del Rio. Punk did an leaping clothsline off the announce table  onto Del Rio and after the match was deemed "no Contest", he drilled Del Rio with a devastating G.T.S.

So much for assaulting Heyman, Del Rio...

Segments
C.M. Punk kicked off the show with a rare appearance on Smackdown. Del Rio then comes out and interrupts them. He goes on and on about how this is his show and that Punk should leave. Punk then gets back at him about how he was a prouud representative of Americans, but now he has "turned his back on them", thus calling him a "phony". Punk also says that Del Rio may be World Champion, but he's the #1 contender to being called "The Best in the World".

Teddy Long then comes out and sets the main event to be Punk vs Del Rio. The shocking thing is that Teddy Long actually booked a singles match instead of a tag team match for the main event!

Paul Heyman urges C.M. Punk to stay out of the main event with Del Rio. Punk refuses and tells Paul to stay away from him at Money In The Bank as well.

This had to be the funniest segment of the night. A.J. Lee is frantic of Kaitlyn coming to get her after she interfered in her match against Alicia Fox. She frantically says to Big E. "That's not running. Knees up!"

Enjoy and don't just read the results, watch as well! :)
