WWE Monday Night RAW (June 24th, 2013)-My Thoughts and Analysis (part 2)

Sorry for being so late on part 2! Didn't have the chance to. In this second part, I'm going to tell my thoughts on certain segments that really caught my attention and my thoughts of the WWE Championship MITB match. Here it goes....

  • AJ Lee's Imitation of Kaitlyn w/ Big E. Langston  They said that imitation the biggest form of flattery, and in this promo it proved this quote right. To me, this was really golden and it gave the Divas some attention. This rivalry between AJ and Kaitlyn have been the talk of WWE since the "Pin Up Strong" era involving Divas of Doom members Natalya & Beth Phoenix. WWE can take this rivalry to new heights, and turn up the heat in the Divas division just a little. I commend A.J. for the use of a body suit to really up the ante when it came to the imitation. It was really funny as well! I'm really glad that A.J.'s Divas Champion, and I can't wait to see what she does as champion.
  • Mark Henry's "Explanation" of his feigning retirement  In my opinion, this promo really killed Henry's momentum. Let's just say this promo ended his "15 minutes of fame". Just to think the week before, he had ALL of us fooled! Many fans said he deserved an Emmy for it. Anyways, the only thing that I liked about it is when he said, "I know I look good. This ain't no Men's warehouse!". Other than that, the promo wasn't really that momentum-building for Henry going in to face Cena for the WWE title at MITB.
  • John Cena's Reaction to Henry feigning his Retirement  Cena's promo wasn't all the intriguing to me either, but this is why I'm blogging about this: to court my opinions about certain things. Like "hits" and "misses". Anyways, the thing I didn't like about this is the fact that he just had to review the WHOLE 50 year history of the WWE Championship. Like come on, dude! Many of us fans out there know this already. I really don't know what to say about this one, but as always, his promos are based on "Hustle. Loyalty. Respect.". Let's see what goes down between these two during the weeks before MITB...
  • CM Punk/Paul Heyman Confrontation  This segment was the one of the main highlights of the night. Once again, CM Punk cuts an golden promo! This all came to an head, because of Punk getting attacked last week by longtime "Paul Heyman guy" Brock Lesnar. The attack made Punk suspicious of Heyman, because earlier that night Punk asked him not to be at ringside because of him almost costing him his match against Chris Jericho in his hometown return at WWE Payback. In the promo, Punk goes on about how Heyman helped him get into WWE and claims that he "wasn't supposed to be ssuccesful in WWE". Heyman had kept him in OVW despite the fact that WWE officials didn't want wrestlers like him in WWE. After he cuts the promo beautifully, Heyman then says that he had nothing to do with Brock Lesnar coming back to attack him. Although he had doubt in his eyes, Punk believed him and the segment ended when the two seemingly "hugging it out".

Now, on to my Money in the Bank thoughts.....

Check out the picture above. This is an All-Star MITB match. 7 former World and/or WWE Champions are in this match. Combine their World title reigns and there would be 24 total reigns:
  • Sheamus (2 WWE, 1 World)
  • CM Punk (3 World, 2 WWE)
  • Daniel Bryan (1 World)
  • Kane (1 WWE, 2 World)
  • Randy Orton (6 WWE, 3 World)
  • Rob Van Dam (1 WWE)
  • Christian (2 World)
I'm really stoked about this one! It's really hard to tell who's gonna win. Matter of fact, it's hard for me to choose. Let's see... After an amazing reign with the WWE title for 434 days and two back-to-back wins in the MITB endeavor, you would think Punk would have this in the back of his pocket. But, you can't forget Daniel Bryan's momentum, and who also successfully cashed in his MITB contract on Big Shoe back in WWE TLC in December of 2011 to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Kane cahsed in his MTB contract on the same night on Rey Mysterio in 2010 to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Finally, many fans want to see RVD pick up the win. Firstly, I wouldn't mind that at all, but what does the man have left to prove? He's won the title already and back in his heyday with the WWE, he held almost all the sanctioned male titles there were and defunted two of them due to unfying them with the Intercontinental Championship (those titles being the European and Hardcore titles). Despite that, this should really be an eye opener for all the RVD fans and fans of the MITB Ladder match in general.
