Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 5, 2015

Bayley beats Charlotte after a Belly-to-Bayley from the top rope.

Michael Cole interviewed Kevin Owens earlier this week. Owens wants the NXT back, not only because of the memento of what he did to Sami Zayn, but because it's more money in his pocket and he can't stand walking down the entrance ramp without it. He also questions William Regal's motives, thinking Regal will screw him over at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. He proposes a ladder match in case Regal doesn't have a crooked referee screw him out of the NXT Championship. When Cole asks Owens if he can beat Finn Balor, Owens just removes the microphone and leaves.

Bull Dempsey watches the "Bull-Fit" promo again...and decides to do it right this time. But can he pull it off...?

Baron Corbin quickly beats Steve Cutler.

Bayley asks William Regal for a shot at the NXT Women's title. Regal sets up a match against Becky Lynch for next week, and whoever wins will become #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Tyler Breeze beats Aaron Solow. After the match, William Regal shows up and tells Breeze that his opponent at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn is none other than Japanese legend Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

Uhaa Nation - now known as Apollo Crews - debuts at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Byron Saxton interviewed Finn Balor earlier this week. Finn is ecstatic to be NXT Champion, but he's more focused on Kevin Owens, whose malicious actions did not surprise him at the contract signing, and he doesn't believe Owens can effectively back his words up with actions. Sami Zayn has helped Finn prepare for this match, reminding him not to take Owens lightly. As for the ladder match proposal, Finn shakes it off and says that Brooklyn will prove that Tokyo was not a fluke, and he plans to beat Owens again.

The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) beat Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. After the match, Dawson and Dash take down Mojo and hit Ryder with the Shatter Machine.

The Vaudevillians (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) meet with William Regal and get their rematch against Blake and Murphy for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn following the interference from Alexa Bliss. Regal asks them to come up with a way to counter Alexa's interference.

Bull Dempsey is getting it right with the fitness...but can he tackle the dreaded tire? Why, yes, he does.

Samoa Joe beats Rhyno.
