Gettin’ RAW – Monday Night RAW recap for July 6, 2015

Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar start the show. Heyman tells Seth Rollins that he will be destroyed at Battleground as Lesnar is the god of violent retribution and the sword that will pierce Rollins’ shield. Heyman then runs down Lesnar’s recent accomplishments from the last year-and-a-half, then says the suplexes and beatings will begin tonight as he deems the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois “the cathedral of Suplex City.” Rollins will also be in the buidling, and Heyman says Lesnar won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Kane is currently in Hawaii, and J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) are taking a road trip across the East Coast in their new car.

Big Show vs. Ryback ends with The Miz attacking both men after running his mouth on the microphone during the match. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Show and Ryback surround Miz and beat him up with a Shell Shocked and a choke slam before Ryback hits the Meat Hook on Show.

J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) were out and about in Chicago earlier today. Their first stop is Wrigley Field…and they’re not impressed.

Despite Paige’s best efforts at fighting off both Nikki Bella and Alicia Fox in her match with Brie Bella, Brie Bella beats Paige. Nikki hits Paige with the Rack Attack after the match.

Sheamus beats Roman Reigns by count-out after Bray Wyatt shows up and Roman Reigns hits the Superman Punch on him only to find out it’s a double wearing a wig. The real Bray Wyatt appears on the TitanTron saying “Anyone but you.” Before Sheamus can leave, Randy Orton shows up for the first time in weeks and gives Sheamus a beatdown.

Seth Rollins talks to Triple H backstage. HHH initially tells Rollins to stay away from Lesnar tonight, and then tells him to use Paul Heyman’s advice to never intentionally provoke Brock Lesnar in his favor.

Rusev and Summer Rae are in the ring. He says that he wasted a year of his life with Lana, and calls the WWE Universe for carrying her under their wing and still sticking with her. He also says Dolph Ziggler is not on his integrity or strength level, and that he’s better looking and more passionate than him. Dolph Ziggler and Lana show up, and tells Rusev that all of his success in WWE has been due to Lana. Summer Rae and Lana take their heels off and are about to go at it when Rusev hits Ziggler with one of his crutches and immediately destroys him, revealing that he is no longer hurt. Summer Rae easily gets rid of Lana and Rusev continues to stomp a mudhole in Ziggler. Ziggler tries to battle back, but to no avail. Rusev then attacks Ziggler with the other crutch as medical staff try to put Ziggler on a stretcher.

Bo Dallas makes light of what happened to Dolph Ziggler before the next match.

Dean Ambrose beats Bo Dallas.

King Barrett beats R-Truth.

Seth Rollins shows up along with J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) in the Cadillac. All three of them have axe handles (minus the blades) with them. Rollins brags about the beating Brock Lesnar was given last week, and says that he will burn Suplex City to the ground at Battleground as he calls Brock Lesnar “yesterday’s news.” He then asks Lesnar if he’s the monster he’s said to be or if he’s just “Paul Heyman’s bitch.” Brock Lesnar shows up along with Paul Heyman. Lesnar slowly approaches the ringalone, then slowly back away. Heyman brings out a box, and inside is two axes – with the blades – which he uses to destroy the Cadillac. At one point, Lesnar rips out one of the back doors with his bare hands, smashes it on the floor and tosses it several yards. J&J Security rush him only for Noble to get his arm broken with a Kimura Lock and Mercury to be sent straight into the front windshield with a belly-to-back suplex. Lesnar then takes his shirt off and rushes the ring, jumping over the ropes in record time and chasing after Rollins only for Rollins to escape. Lesnar then takes the WWE World Heavyweight Championship – which Rollins has left behind – and lifts it up.

The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil) guest on commentary for the next match.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) beat The Lucha Dragons (Sin Cara and Kalisto).

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is revealed to be on the cover for WWE 2K16, coming October 27th in America and October 30th throughout the rest of the world.

John Cena shows up…and so does Kevin Owens when Cena issues the open challenge for the United States title. He tells Cena that’s he sick and tired of the same old spiel from him, week in and week out. Since he’s no longer NXT Champion, he needs the United States title and decides to fight him right now. Suddenly, Cesaro shows up and confronts Kevin Owens for costing him the United States title last week, and tells him to get out of the ring or deal with him and Cena. Owens leaves.

John Cena retains the WWE United States Championship against Cesaro. After the match, Kevin Owens rushes back in to attack Cena but is forced to retreat after eating an Attitude Adjustment.
