The Authority (Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Kane, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton) show up to start the show. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have a Beat The Clock challenge tonight. Dean Ambrose takes on Alberto Del Rio, while Rollins takes on Rob Van Dam. Stephanie McMahon will have a contract signing for her match with Brie Bella. Randy Orton promises to decimate Roman Reigns. The whole time, Triple H keeps plugging the WWE Network and how it costs $9.99. As Orton speaks, Reigns shows up. He speaks from the crowd, and plans to beat up Randy for free. Damien Sandow shows up in Oklahoma Sooners gear and has Jim Ross's entrance theme. He sings the praises of the Sooners over the Texas Longhorns (due to their college football rivalry). Adam Rose looks into a mirror that supposedly shows an evil version staring back at him ...and sees himself as a "lemon" businessman in a suit and tie, carrying a suitcase and wearing glasses. Wait, what?

Rusev beats Sin Cara on the WWE App. Lana wishes United States President Barack Obama a happy birthday by singing "Happy Birthday" in Russian, then Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter show up. Zeb tells Lana to shut up, and tells her and Rusev what Swagger's representing: the common American, not just at home, but on the front line abroad, before saying that Swagger will be victorious. Not long after, Rusev attacks Jack Swagger with the Russian flag. Lana has to call Rusev off before he does the same to Zeb.
The Miz guests on commentary for the next match.

Chris Jericho vs. Luke Harper ends with interference from Bray Wyatt, who eventually hits Jericho with the Sister Abigail. Luke Harper is banned from ringside during Jericho vs. Wyatt at
SummerSlam because of this.
Diego beats Fandango, who comes out with Hornswoggle as his new dancer. That lasts only as long as the match, as Hornswoggle dances around with Summer, Layla, Diego and El Torito. Fandango attacks Hornswoggle, and Diego and El Torito make him pay for that.

Rob Van Dam is replaced by Heath Slater in Seth Rollins' Beat The Clock Challenge match at the last minute by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Dean Ambrose also shows up at ringside to observe the match...and distract Seth Rollins by tearing up the contract inside the
Money In The Bank briefcase, dropping soda and popcorn in the briefcase, and stuffing JBL's cowboy hat in the briefcase. This is enough to continuously distract Seth Rollins to the point that Heath Slater wins a main event match for the first time in his career. Dean Ambrose gets to name his stipulation for his
SummerSlam match.

After harsh words by Brie Bella (who says she'll embarass Stephanie McMahon and dedicating the match to all that Triple H and Stephanie tortured) and Stephanie McMahon (Brie Bella is a wanna-be reality star who wants to make a name off of her), the contract is signed. The match is official for
SummerSlam. All of a sudden, Stephanie and Triple H trap Brie in a corner with the desk in the ring before Stephanie hits Nikki Bella with a Pedigree. Brie slaps Triple H, but Stephanie smacks Brie and hits her with a Pedigree to close out the show.
